So enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was built in the mid 1800's with additions since. The decor is tasteful, expensive although the price is reasonable. The breakfasts were excellent. The hotel is located within walking distances of everything. The grounds are well kept with nice lawn furniture.

Lovely property in spacious grounds, easy walking distance to town centre. Room not huge, but big enough, everything you needed was there. TV screen is hinged so you can watch it from the bed or the sofa. Staff friendly, great breakfast (fruit waffle recommended). There was a new cat, Arthur, being fostered. He was rescued after the recent Hurricane Arthur... More

We were booked here for 2 nights and would have liked a third as there is so much of interest to see and do here. The house is beautiful, set in lovely grounds with three parlours and lovely antique furniture everywhere. We had a moderate size bedroom overlooking the front of the house with a small narrow bathroom behind with... More

My husband and I were very impressed with the quiet graciousness of this historical Inn. The rooms are well appointed and the parlors were decorated with antiques appropriate for the house. The veranda was a wonderful place for tea in the late evening and overlooked well kept grounds and beautiful flowers. Breakfast began with delightful homemade muffins and homemade jellies.... More

This inn was excellent. Great location within walking distance of Historic Gardens and Fort Anne. The accommodations were lovely and clean. Beautiful living rooms/parlours with a terrific display of a variety of art. There was ample outdoor seating where we had a lovely rest after a day of walking about town. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this... More

We stayed two nights at the Hillsdale House while on a trip through the Maritime provinces. It is what a B&B is meant to be: a great place to sleep with a wonderful breakfast. The location is convenient to local attractions and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! After our second night we had to leave... More

We came to Annapolis Royal because it was close to Kejimkujik National Park, a place where we wanted to hike. We stayed there longer than expected because of this Inn and the Proprietors and Staff, as well as the town itself. In fact, I left a bit of my heart back there. This Inn is beautifully furnished in antiques but... More

Our room was large and comfortable. But we arrived the night before Hurricane Arthur, so had only experienced one night out of four with electricity and a hot shower. Nevertheless, our hosts were game for the challenge and were still able to offer us tasty breakfasts, by candlelight no less! The hosts, Paul and Val, had to work extra-hard, cooking... More

Thanks so much for your generous feedback. Without a doubt the loss of power presented a few challenges, but that is where you count on your experience to kick in to be able to adapt to the situation. Being without the usual modern conveniences gave us the opportunity to get to know guests like yourselves who braved the situation even... More

We recently left the beautiful town of Annapolis Royal. An absolutely quaint town and the Hillsdale is a perfect spot to stay. Almost next door to the Historic Gardens...a must! And then a short walk to Fort Anne...another must...and to shops and restaurants. The owners gave us great suggestions for eating and to the Delaps Cove trail for hiking...which is... More

Thanks for the wonderful feedback. We enjoyed having your family with us, and in particular how much your daughter enjoyed playing with Arthur. We are fortunate to have great gardens and spaces for everyone to relax or play while staying with us. We hope you can return sometime in the near future. More
