Val and Paul truly run a first class establishment at this historical landmark Inn. The pride in what they do shines through. Be sure to take the time to enjoy the extraordinary French Toast for breakfast!

We were warmly welcomed and our room was attractive, clean, and quiet. We would suggest that the inn update the pillows in the room (I think it was #11), as they were quite flat and hard and made for an uncomfortable night. The breakfast was generous and we enjoyed the town crier's presentation.

We are pleased to see that these guests overall enjoyed their experience at our property. However, it is unfortunate that they did not find our pillows to their liking. We wish that they had immediately brought this to our attention prior to retiring for the evening, as we could have offered other pillow options for them to choose from. More

The largest B&B we stayed in during our Nova Scotia Tour. Very attentive and helpful staff. Very clean, well-kept rooms. Top Notch Breakfast of well-prepared & tasty food, complete with a surprise (to us) visit by the Town Crier who gave us the current events for the area and then described/explained his period costume. A great way to start our... More

Had a great one-night stay at this historic home which is beautifully furnished and decorated. We stayed in a large comfortable room with beautiful view of the gardens in back. Great location for exploring Annapolis Royal and walking location to all the sights in town.

Our family of four stayed at the Hillsdale House Inn for two nights. Our two rooms were very comfortable and well appointed and the showers were great! Our two morning breakfasts were the best we had in our week long stay in Nova Scotia - fresh ingredients, home baked, generous, gourmet and delicious! The innkeeper, Val, is incredibly welcoming and... More

a great choice for a 2 night stay - good size room - everything worked - nice public rooms on the first floor - but more than anything very attentive and efficient staff, and a good breakfast. Nice walk into town with a good choice of OK, but not stunning, restaurants - but Hillsdale House is great!

We spent 2 lovely nights in this bed and breakfast. It is a beautifully kept historic house with extensive grounds. The room was very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. Perfectly located just a few blocks from the fantastic Historic Gardens and town center. The generous breakfast started with freshly baked muffins and was followed by a choice of eggs/bacon etc.... Perfection. Each room is decorated differently with beautiful antiques. Plenty of sitting areas inside and out. Grounds well maintained. Staff and owners very friendly, go out of their way to be helpful. Food homemade by owners to drool over. Thoroughly enjoyed.

We stayed at the Hillsdale House a few weeks ago and it was great. From start to finish it was everything we expected from a top end B&B. Clean, Friendly and very helpful with the restaurants and things to do in town. We did the grave yard tour and highly recommend it. Be warned though there are Mosquitos about. The... More

As we stay in scores of hotels every year I decided to devise a template of the features we feel are most important and concentrate on those: Room number, floor, size? Room 4, top floor, very spacious room Bed – comfortable? Yes – lovely big king-size bed with deep mattress and squishy topper – shame it has a blanket instead... More
