We stayed at The Tulip Tree for a week in Elizabeth's Room and found it luxurious and peaceful. The setting is second to none with lovely gardens and a beautiful period home. Our hosts were gracious, informative and fun. We highly recommend staying at this comfortable retreat! more

We stayed at the Tulip Tree for two nights and absolutely loved it. Our hosts, Sue and Ted, were very gracious and friendly. We stayed in "Marie's Room" - it was beautifully decorated with antiques and lovely crisp white linens. We had a sitting room with a TV that over looked the gardens. Our breakfasts were delicious and served with... more

Stayed at the Tulip Tree B&B two nights in late July. Our room was very nice, had an enclosed porch overlooking the landscaped back yard, was very close to great garden attraction and historic Annapolis Royal. Our hosts were very congenial, the breakfasts were great. Highly recommend a stay with them. more

I visited Annapolis Royal as a first time visitor and was charmed by the setting of the town and all the history. The Tulip Tree was a highlight as I stayed in the "cottage" off the main house which afforded a litlle more privacy and allowed me to enjoy the gounds of the house. The Owners (Sue and Ted) were... more

We were in the room "Elizabeth" which fronted the road and it was very noisy. The house fronts onto a busy street, hwy 8. I had to sleep with ear plugs. The owner's suggested we keep the air conditioning on but the machine was right beside the head of our bed and the bearings are worn in it and it... more

Our beautiful B&B is located on St. George Street, not Hwy. 8, as mentioned by this reviewer. St. George Street is the main street of Annapolis Royal and the speed limit is 50km/hr. Annapolis Royal is a very small town and restaurants, shops, B&B/Inns, the Historic Gardens are all within a short walk of each other. The noise level at...

Sue and Ted were the perfect hosts for our 2 night stay in Annapolis Royal. They were very helpful about the things to see and do in the area. And their lovely home offered 3 large suites plus a guest cottage. We had a nice sized room with a wonderful attached porch/sunroom. They had thought of every amenity to make... more

The Tulip Tree B&B has everything you'd want - beautiful and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts and gracious hosts, Ted & Sue Ashdown. We stayed in Elizabeth's Hideaway which has a wonderful 4 poster bed with luxurious linens. The ensuite is huge and is a woman's dream with a large jacuzzi tub, stall shower, and double sinks with granite counters. The... more

The Tulip Tree is everything a B&B should be - elegant, lovely, quiet, relaxing and welcoming. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by Sue and Ted and Charlie the B&B dog. We stayed at the Tulip Tree in 2005 (previous ownership) and had a wonderful time and our second visit did not disappoint. Sue and Ted were... more

My husband and I were warmly welcomed by owners and hosts, Sue and Ted Ashdown, who made sure we were comfortable and well supplied with good information. The B&B is attractive and Sue prepares an excellent breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the "sun room" off of our bedroom where we could watch television in a comfortable setting. The lawn and plantings... more
