Driving to Yellowknife was an adventure with the ferry ride across the Mackenzie River, the road and all the grazing bison. We loved the feel of Old town and were impressed with the new town (as modern as anywhere). I went up to Yellowknife, NWT in December of 2002 to see aurora aka Northern Lights. The rooms were reasonably clean, the proximity to the airport was very good too.
