We travelled Newfoundland this summer and arrived on motorcycles on one of the wettest, windiest cold days of August. We originally booked for only 1 night, but when we arrived we immediately decided we were going to spend the rest of our trip to Newfoundland here. The first room we had was a smoking room, but since it was the... More

Booked this hotel as it was close to the Memorial University Campus - about a 3 minute walk. I was delivering my daughter to university and the price was about 30% less than the chains. The rooms are small, but have wireless Internet and a bar fridge. The beds are the most amazing aspect - great linens and the most... More

Booked our reservations in July/11 for 2 nights stay in Sept./11. Upon arrival at 4pm we were told that our room was not ready yet. What happened to 3pm check in policy? Gave them the benefit of the doubt and went to get something to eat. Came back around 6pm and were told again that our room was still not... More

I was In St. John's on business and stayed at the Guv'nor Inn. I think it was the best night's sleep I ever had! The mattress was amazing... it was a Serta Pillow Top Perfect Sleeper. I took the liberty of checking.

If you stay here, and even a single person on your floor is loud, you will probably hear them in all the rooms. Its got paper thin walls and I spent my night without any sleep. Called the front desk thrice but they didnt do anything about the noise. I had to move to another hotel in the morning.

This inn (hotel) came highly recommended by a fellow motorcyclist. We travelled to St John's for the HOG rally. We stayed in a room that faced the courtyard that was sheltered from the street. We were able to park our Harley's outside our door to keep an eye on them. First I want to say that this inn is one... More

My BF and I have travelled extensively (Canada, US, Asia, Europe, Caribbean) and neither of us will stay at the Guv'nor again. My six year old son looked in the bathroom and said "Mama, it looks GERMY!". The duvets on the bed were full of lumps, and the shower didn't work correctly. Not only that, but the air conditioning was... More

This hotel was overall dirty and in need of work. The staff were friendly, the bed comfortable and it was easy to get to the hotel but that would not be enough for me to return. The main hallway smelled strongly of bbq sauce at one end and of cooking ground beef at the other (for a number of nights).... More

This is an adequate, reasonably-priced hotel in St. John's, the provincial capital of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is close to the University and main hospital, but relatively far from tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. I cannot recommend the attached restaurant, the Guv'nor Pub and Eatery where we had the only truly bad meal we ever had in Newfoundland. In the... More

This motel/inn - was excellent. We stayed for 5 nights this summer while attending a motorcycle rally in St John's. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this inn - we had a great time. As a motorcyclist they are very motorcycle friendly and came recommended by a fellow motorcyclist. What I enjoyed about it - is that there is... More
