The hotel offers views of the harbour. Some rooms also offer such views. Ours offered a street view. Our room was large with a well appointed bathroom. We were able to walk to Water Street for the shops and George Street for the nightlife. There is free parking but the lot is not large so if you can, we recommend... more

First time to Newfoundland, 3 days 2 nights Still wish i was there! I got to the hotel and first thing i noticed was how steep the streets were! You actually check in on the 4th floor (Ground floor) and there are 3 floors below that and 3 floors above to the 7th floor, The girl who checked me in... more

We spent two nights here and enjoyed the harbourview room on the 7th floor which is actually the 4th floor. It was the most expensive room of any on our two week trip through the Maritimes. The room was average size. On three occasions we were disturbed the second night by people returning to their rooms. It was raining and... more

The Marriott sits right on the harbor. It is the quietest hotel I have been in. The room I had was on the 5th floor with one kingsize bed, facing the street. There was no street noise, the room was clean, and the shower better than home. You didn't have to stray far for authentic east coast dining unless you... more

Hotel is well located with some rooms having a view of the industrial harbour. This is a working harbour with lots of cranes, forklifts, container movement and noise. Do not expect a serene environment. Bring quality ear plugs for sleeping as the port activities start very early. The rooms and suites are not up to par with other Marriott locations... more

Great Hotel, especially for the business traveller - rooms were clean and well appointed. Great views of the harbour. The hotel doesn't have a pool but was still good value for the money, considering the cost of some of the other hotels in the city. Central location as everything within walking distance. Staff were always very friendly. Would recommend without... more

An excellent mid-size hotel, unparalled in friendliness and service. Be sure to ask for a harbour-side room....be willing to pay the bit extra. There's no other view like it in all of Canada!! If you're from New York or Kansas or Orillia...or even Vancouver -- you'll pinch yourself everytime you look out the window. A pocket-harbour, alive with activity and... more

I had a harbor view room for my stay at this hotel. The view was OK. I did not have any problems with port noises, or any other noises for that matter. The staff was very helpful and accomodating to this American on his first trip to Canada. They even pointed out a few good places to spot icebergs not... more

Stayed 3 nights in harbour view room on 7th floor. Great room, big, very clean, wonderful view. Would stay there again without a problem! Ate breakfast once at the restaurant, food was so-so. Went to Cora's the other days on Water street: great breakfasts. more

We stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time in St John's. We had a 5th floor room with harbour view......I recommend floors 5 to 7 if you want the best harbour view. The room was large with a king bed and large bathroom. We ate breakfasts at Smitty's although a little pricey but very plentiful and good. Parking was... more
