This is my second trip to Corner Brook and my stay happened to coincide with winter festival which meant that all other options were booked out. It was evident from the onset that this was going to be a low-end stay. The building is very run down inside and out. The rooms are sizable with an almost small apartment feeling.... More

Ick. Had to go to Walmart to get cleaning supplies and scrub the tub and it was still black. I wouldn't mind the Old furniture if it was clean. Everywhere else was sold out and this place had tonns of rooms available and now I understand why. Just a heads up. The guy at the front desk was friendly though.

Slept in my sleeping bag ! Would have slept in my car if it wasn't so cold. This place is rated 3 stars ??? What by cavemen ? Bring your ear and nose plugs.... gross ! Seriously time to renovate and update. There is a reason you get a room for well under a $100 bucks......because it stinks, is old,... More

A lot of people seem to be expecting the Hilton while staying at a non-chain, older downtown location. This isn't for mints on the pillows etc. as far as a downtown motel/restaurant/bar combo goes, they're great! Very very friendly front desk staff, everyone fawned over my dog (they are pet-friendly). And the rooms are clean. Yes the carpet is dated:... More

From the outside, it looks a little scary. Going up to my room on the 2nd floor I thought I made a big mistake. The hallways and elevator reeked of smoke. But the room was clean. Nothing fancy. No frig or microwave or even a coffeemaker. But a good cable selection and the Internet was very fast. The rate of... More

If you are looking for a good nights sleep, with a comfortable bed and clean room...do not go to this hotel. Although we found the reception staff very friendly and accomodating, the hotel itself is a real dive. When heading to our room we noticed the hall carpets were stained but hoped our room would be better..it was'nt. We ended... More

Comfort Inn was booked solid so a local cab stand recommended the Hotel Corner Brook. Driving up the place looked pretty shabby and institutional. The room was comfortable and spacious, the bathroom modern. The bed was very comfortable and clean and had a great night's sleep. The shower had great pressure and was the best shower I've ever experienced in... More

When I travel, I like to get away from the cookie-cutter motel chains when I can and stay in older downtown hotels. I am willing to sacrifice some of the modern comforts if an old place has been reasonably kept up and affords a taste of nostalgia. This is what we expected from the Hotel Corner Brook, and we booked... More
