This place is a neat old building and is very traditional. They seem to have bus tours of older people quite regularly so that kind so "sets a tone" the pub is pretty sad and tired with a very limited menu. The restaurant tries to be fine dining but it doesn't quite cut it. It is very clean the rooms... More

We arrived at the gracious lobby at the same time as a large group. The friendly and efficient staff pulled us out of the line and quickly checked us in. We chatted about old friends who used to come for coffee many mornings in the gracious dining room -- this is Newfoundland -- so of course she remembered them. We... More

I stayed there for a week in new building. It is not luxury hotel at all but it's a good place for staying in Corner Brook for value. It is close to everything and specially it has direct access to hiking. The front desk people are so friendly, kind and helpful. They have always their beautiful smiles on. I didn't get any... More

When staying here you have to keep in mind this is an old building. The walls are not sound proofed, and the floors squeak. On the other hand it is charming and the decor suitable for the period. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. Great front desk and wait staff in the dining room. Take time to walk... More

We stayed only one night in this quaint hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean and the A/C worked well. It has a lovely old fashioned feel to it with sitting rooms off the lobby. There is a lovely large restaurant eating area and the food was good. The only downside was no shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries.... More

We stayed at the Glynmill Inn on our first night in Newfoundland. While it turned out to be the most expensive stay on our trip (thought comparatively not expensive by Toronto standards), its charm and the warmth of the staff was a perfect first introduction to this amazing part of the the world. The wine cellar restaurant in the basement... More

Pros - A great historic building and beautiful grounds. Excellent restaurants - both the lobby-level dining room and the wine cellar steakhouse. Spacious rooms. Clean. Staff, especially restaurant staff, were very friendly. Challenges - Since the last time I stayed there, it seems like the hotel isn't up to its traditional/usual spec. Only Ice machine I could find was on... More

I was very impressed with how management of this hotel handled complaints. We were the family mentioned in the previous review. My husband and my 3 children were bringing in our luggage when the people in the room below began to bang on the ceiling, complaining of stomping noises. It was 5:30 in the evening and I am not sure... More

Stayed in Jr. Suite. Loud banging noises from room above woke me up. Stomping vibration from people in room above was so heavy that the headboard was shaking. Went on for 30 minutes and only after FOUR complaints to management was the family above was moved to another room. No apology or any communication from management. Spend your money elsewhere... We apologize that you did not enjoy your entire stay. Whenever we have complaints about noise we take the appropriate action and contact the guests in question. After receiving your complaint at approximately 5:30pm, we immediately contacted the room and the family graciously volunteered to moved within minutes. Thank you for your comments, we truly do want all of our... More

The history of the inn is available in the lobby. Very nice old woodwork as soon as you walked through the door. Lovely dinning room also on the main floor. I was a bit disappointed when I went in the hallways to reach my room. Rather dull halls in need of update. As a former employee of a hospital one... More
