The antiques are exceptional - hosts very accommodating and kind - food was fresh and tasty!! I would like to take in one of the concerts that feature Canadian artists during the winter - Ralph is creating a good reputation and a following with this initiative. I recommend visiting Saint John - a Canadian City with lots to offer!

My wife and I booked two nights at this B&B. We wound up staying for an unplanned third night because of tropical storm Arthur. The location is perfect for walking down a slight hill and then along the waterfront into town. We had a harbor view room and the view was special. The B&B is located in a quiet neighborhood... More

I stayed with two other friends in the lovely Shore Garden room. We all enjoyed the stay. Although we were only in Saint John for a short one night, we were warmly welcomed, the room was clean and comfortable, and Karen provided excellent recommendations for a great dinner. We also appreciated that they were able to make gluten-free breakfasts too!... More

Sometimes it's nice to find a different place to experience and this will definitely fit the bill. Very interesting old house - well, 2 houses, joined together with a conference space between. Views to the harbour were very nice. The stairs to get into the place, as well as up to the second floor are extremely difficult to navigate (I... More

The Homeport is a great place to stay while in Saint John. The rooms are warm and inviting, the great room with gas fireplace is great for relaxing, and the views are incredible. Ralph and Karen cannot do enough for you to make sure you have a nice stay at the Homeport and enjoy Saint John. Add to this the... More

This is an outstanding B&B. My best friend and I spent 10 days traveling from Wash. DC to St. Johns, NB. This was by far the best stay of our trip. It was also the least expensive. We were traveling the last week of July, which of course is "high season" on the north eastern coast of the US and... More

We stayed two nights back in late September 2013. our room had been upgraded as they had the space, at no cost to us. The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. We enjoyed the lighthouse, seemingly right outside our window. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. I will go back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set high on a hill with a commanding view of the Bay of Fundy, and the Historic Port and Skyline of Saint John the Homeport Historic B&B/Inn c1858 provides the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the gracious ambiance of Canada's oldest incorporated city. The twin homes were built in 1858,and were constructed for a prominent shipbuilding family whose boat yard was located a few hundred yards below on the harbor tidal flats. Its unique Italianate architecture reflects the opulence of the time with very large bright windows and rooms, 10 foot ceilings, free standing spiral stair cases, and detailed wood work rosettes, finials and columns. Of particular interest is a pair of carved figure heads that have stood sentinel in the formal twin parlors for nearly 150 years. Come stop for a while and enjoy these magnificently restored Mansions and be pampered in Five Star luxury. ... more   less
