We stayed in the Beautiful Captain's Suite. I loved that it was on the ground floor and furnished with historical accuracy and comfort in mind. The breakfast was amazing and accommodated both vegetarian and gluten-free needs. Our Stay was even more special because the whole B & B was reserved for wedding attendees and used for the wedding and reception... More

Very nice facility, good views over the city and near the Reversing Rapids. Karen and Ralph made you feel at home and were very attentive to all details. The breakfasts were to die for. - all made to order if wanted.

The Homeport was a roomy, friendly B and B. Our room was spacious and very clean. Karen and Ralph were great hosts and helpful with what to see around St. John. Breakfast was delicious and other guests were friendly and that made for a cozy meal. We walked from the B and B to the center of the city via... More

Incredible!!! From the rooms to the food. Everything was great. The value rooms are great, large and very nice, but I suggest paying a bit more for the deluxe rooms. You will be blow away. The house is so beautiful with so much history. The gardens are done up very well. You will not be disappointed.

This is actually two homes joined to make one amazing bed and breakfast! Both houses were built in the 1800's by two brothers. We stayed in the Veranda Room which has an amazing view of the Bay if Fundy. Our visit was on Canada Day. We watched the fireworks from the widow's watch! Since the brothers were ship builders, the... More

What an awesome place! The home is lovingly kept by Karen & Ralph. We stayed in the Crows Nest which was an welcome retreat with a huge bathroom & whirlpool tub that was much appreciated after we were drenched in the tail end of a tropical storm! Shelley was the best breakfast cook and we looked forward to her beautiful... More

We stayed at the Homeport during a car camping trip up the coast of Maine and New Brunswick; after sleeping in a 30-year-old Westphalia for half a week, we knew it was time for a comfy bed and a decent shower. What we weren't prepared for was A) that St. John is a working city rather than a tourist magnet,... More

I highly recommend staying here. The B&B owners are unbelievably kind, wonderful, and welcoming. I truly admire the hard work that must go into maintaining and running this gorgeous B&B. They do a great job. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we could've stayed longer. We've travelled 28 countries around the world, being lucky enough to stay in 4 castle... More

Food was not very good. Host was an indignant know- it- all. We were charged for food that was not received. Lots of details missed. Hard to reach. Unfortunate really because its a good property. I would however not recommend for a business event.

As much as I do not like and take great exception to the content of this review It has given me an opportunity to respond. In 18 years of Inn keeping and serving hundreds of meals to thousands of satisfied weddings, families and corporate clients I have never had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with a person as this so... We have stayed at The Homeport before; in fact, we arrange every trip to our summer cottage in Cape Breton to ensure that we make the necessary break in the journey to stay in The Homeport. Once you discover a great place, it doesn't make any sense to gamble. We usually first relax in our lovely room with a drink... More
