I would not recommend this hotel! It is old and out dated! Our bathroom shower had minimal water pressure, with the water temperature fluctuating between ice cold and boiling hot every 10 seconds. On a positive note, the staff were all friendly and helpful!

The lobby of this hotel is average. Service is also average. Our room has a view facing St. Johns Bay. Also, we have a good view of a big sign "St. Johns" on top of the hill. Wireless internet is weak. It gets better early in the morning. Newspaper is free too. We were on the 8th floor of the... More

My 90 year old mom along with two ladies in their 60’s wanted to do a 10 day trip inexpensively to PEI in Canada from New York. I was the organizer and chauffer. The entire trip cost about 1k, excluding van rental and fuel. This trip was all about sightseeing, eating good seafood and inexpensive lodging; this motel fit the... More

We live in Moncton area and take many mini geocaching vacations to maritime locations every year. We have essentially avoided Saint John because we could not find a hotel we liked. We wanted a hotel with a reasonable rate, which was clean, had reliable wifi. We also wanted a pool so we could relax after long days hiking and bushwacking.... More

The Howard Johnson Fort Howe was in a good location, and had a very good continental breakfast program. However, the hotel had a very musty odor to it, and when I went to check laundry facilities on the 3rd floor you could very clearly smell cigarette smoke as soon as the elevator doors opened. Now every room has a sign... More

Yes it is dated but; our spacious, quiet room #323 had a clean comfortable bed. The tub had a rubber stopper, so I had a shower instead of a bath. Every staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We had a 20 min. walk to the restaurants on the waterfront. ( We passed the Hilton 15 mins walk). For... More

This hotel was not our first choice or 1 through 6 it was one that had two rooms for our group to stay for two nights. The rooms are dated and have a musty smell. The elevator is slow and really old getting to the 5th floor was a adventure. The hotel also doubles as a group home for folks... More

Upon registering I was told there was a planned power outage at midnight until 5 am, ok, maybe that can't be helped but I should have guessed that this wasn't going to be a great stay. Upon entering room I noticed everything was very dated although it appeared clean. Bathroom had dirty grout in tub & tub itself was obviously... More

Where does one begin? The front end staff were very welcoming and friendly. That's as good as it gets. Once you enter the slow one working elevator you get to see the true colors of what this hotel has to offer. The price for our room was extremely cheap...but for a reason!!! As an interior designer my job is notice... More

Monty python's routine notwithstanding, this hotel was the worst i have been in since a hostel in Suzhou, in China.last autumn. There, at least, i had considerably lower expectations for a considerably lower price. To be fair, we had just come from a Holiday Express, not the worlds most wonderful hotel chain, but generally acceptable, but this hotel was beyond... More
