-I just recently booked 2 nights at this hotel, through online booking. Yes it was the cheapest rate of St. John, not expecting the best, but most definately not expecting what we got!!! -We arrive at the hotel thinking we were at the wrong spot, the building on the outside looks like a high school transformed into a hotel. Oh... more

Hotel Courtney Bay offers one of the more affordable hotel rates in the city of Saint John. It will also throw in a FREE breakfast from its onsite restuarant (PJ Bilington's), wireless internet and an internet workarea in the lobby. The hotel itself is somewhat worn though it continues to see renovations (a new indoor pool area is scheduled to... more

I stayed there to conduct a 2 days workshop, client choose the location. We were using one of their conference rooms. Conference facility is well below average. This is a fairly old hotel and it is easy to see! My room was clean and ok, featuring a fridge and micro-wave. I recommend not eating at the hotel restaurant. There are... more

I stayed at this hotel for 28 days. It was the cheapest one on expedia at the time. Overall it’s an ok place. One thing that annoyed me the most was there was no minifridge or microwave in the room, or anywhere for that matter. That would have been fine because there’s a restaurant next door, right? Well, not really.... more

What a dump! For $100 a night, this hotel is not worth it. Our room was badly in need of work, chipped sink and tub, toilet barely flushed, carpet worn out. Location is industrial and unpleasant - view from our window was a vacant car parts store, power plant and oil refinery. It is 15 min walk to the city... more

We arrived after our tiring journey from Maine ready to relax and rest for a night before journeying onto PEI. Entering St John did not fill us with pleasure at having reached our destination and this was excacerbated when we spied the hotel from the road. At this point we wondered if we had made a mistake and this was... more

Man, this place was awful. You can tell they are trying to improve it, but improvements seem very haphazard and unprofessional (like the electrical socket "plastered" into the wall, and the overwhelming smell of glue used to install the new carpet. The sheets were threadbare - (pictures are coming!), there was exposed wiring in the hallways, but the real problem... more

As with previous reviewers this hotel in DIRE need of a makeover - desk and resteraunt staff were very courteous - in fact at checkout I was refunded the difference between phone and internet reservation rates ($109 vs $89) - the decor boarders on bordello from 1800s - my room was clean and not many guests during my 2 night... more

This was not the worst place that I have ever stayed but at the same time I would not recommend it. It was an unusually hot weekend in Saint John and air conditioning was crucial. To be fair, this is unusual in Saint John. Fog is likely more typical. The air conditioner was the type installed in the window but... more
