My room over looks the garden in the back of the inn. The peace and quiet is punctuated by the sound of the birds enjoying the flowering crab apple trees. The view is spectacular. The food is excellent and the bed very comfortable. The host has been more than helpful, answering all my questions and going out of his way... More

This is the most expensive place to stay in town. We slept in the 'carriage house'. Lovely decor -- antiques and "period pieces" (nice old dolls, furniture, books, etc.). We were surprised that breakfast was not included, given the price. Bed was comfortable enough, bathroom roomy. Water temperature and pressure fluctuated in the shower. It's cool that so many famous... More

My room was comfortable enough if you don't mind being surrounded by dozens of dolls, plastic flowers and fluffy bunnies. I woke up and found the place deserted of any staff and waited 20 minutes before anyone appeared. I was then told that breakfast was not included in the $100 price tag, which is the basic principle behind a B&B.... More

The room was large enough and the washroom more a throwback to earlier days (shower in clawfoot tub) than a modern tiled & chrome. The decor in the room was a little too granny doily but when the lights are out you don't notice. The inn itself is quite beautiful and relatively secluded. Fine restaurant on the ground floor.

We stayed at this inn for the past number of years always choosing the 2 day package. This package includes 2 three course dinners plus wine and 2 full breakfasts. This package is a great deal as the food is excellent and the inn is charming. Yes the service can be slow on occassion but when the food arrives we are... More

We stayed in the carriage house portion. Very nice. The food in the restaurant is also excellent. A few small items prevented this from getting 5 stars. I had to reboot the router to get Internet, the service in the restaurant could have been better. So not 5 stars but certainly a great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night through their week-end getaway package. This was a great deal considering that it included a three course dinner and full breakfast, both of which were delicious. The hotel itself was charming, the only drawback is that the service was so-so. I think this was probably a combination of under... More

Stayed here overnight and it was great. The Inn iis beautiful and the gardens are amazing. The inn has a tranquil and relaxing feel to it. Our room was upstairs and it was amazingly set up to suit the era. What really stood out for us however was the finer details put in by the owners to ensure travellers felt... More

The Marshlands is the inn of Sackville. It has a long history as witnessed by the pictures of Victoria and Albert in the hallway. The cooking is very good. The seafood en croute makes a delightful Maritime lunch. The rooms also take you back to the Victorian era. However, one British guest found the proliferation of dolls to be a... More

Marshlands Inn was the perfect base for my trip to Sackville to hike and birdwatch. It is just a block from the entrance to the outstanding Waterfowl Park circuit trail, which I walked every morning before breakfast. Barry and Lucy were helpful and engaging and the restaurant is very good, though I only ate dinner there, not breakfast. I stayed... More
