*mature couples/friends* If you're a weekend camper tenting out, do yourself a favour and book the plateau. This spot is a hidden gem. The view is absolutely spectacular, with PRIVATE riverfront view and access, and completely surrounded by trees. Perfect for anyone looking to do some kayaking, canoeing. The staff were definitely friendly and very accommodating even going as far... More

My family had visited this park on the last week of July 2013 and were to stay until 02 Sept. We paid for a site on the river which turned out to be next to a seasonal camper. The occupant of that site had built a fire pit behind his camper during our occupancy then complained to the proprietor that... More

We are very sorry that this camper felt so personally offended by the owners decision he had to leave our campground. This is one of the most difficult decisions a business owner has to make. We welcome seasonal and non-seasonal campers at Great bear Camping and wish all the best for 2013-2014. More

Through the years we've tried out many (many, many) campgrounds and have never found the one that had the relaxing atmosphere, beautiful scenery, frendly people and the necessary amenities without going overboard (let's give the kids a chance to play with each other, rather then constantly entertaining them), until we stayed at Great Bear. On our first trip we arrived... More

We've visited a few camp sites in New Brunswick and this one was definitely one of our favorites. The staff are super friendly and very welcoming when we drove up. The sites are nicely treed and landscaped instead of the parking lot style of other campgrounds. Others have said its not great for kids because there isn't a playground -... More

Would recommend to anyone. Plenty of water front sites for the weekend camper, lots of trees, level lots, centrally located clean bathrooms that only the laziest person would find a pain to walk to, great sandy beach and a pool! The only knock I have for Great Bear is the lack of playground equipment for kids. One set of swings... More

Great little campground. Lots of mature hardwood trees make a very nice spot. They have a well maintain pool, the owners are very nice and friendly. They have your typicle campground rules but are not overly uptight about them. We enjoyed our three night stay very much.

I have recently stayed at Great Bear Campground and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. The view from our waterfront lot was truly breathtaking and it would be hard to find such a wonderful view from any other campground in the province. The pool was clean and refreshing and the owners of the campground were friendly and... More

I booked at this campground because of the great reviews here at Tripadvisor; however my experience was quite different. The staff was indeed very kind and accomodating and the location is beautiful. The negetives? No hot water for showers during the night; however there was in the morning. No enforcement of quite times. They have several campers that stay there... More

We have camped at Great Bear over the years since my sons were small, and now they are taking their children to experience camping there as well. The grounds are clean and spacious, and the staff are excellent, even remembering you from year to year. All the facilities are clean and well maintained, and as a family weekend retreat it... More

Great Bear was a great spot to camp! From the moment we booked our reservation to landing at the campground and setting up our camper...that was just the beginning of a fantastic weekend. The campground is clean, friendly and we had a fantastic view of the Saint John River! Very accomodating and we will be returning!!
