We were booked to stay at the Hampton Suites. We arrived early and no room was available so we drove to the Fairmont and booked a top of the line room. Paid $369 for the Presidential but boy was it worth it. Drinks, food, breakfast, private board room, business office were all available for those who wanted to use the... more

Eeven before I arrived at the Fairmont I met with some local people who, when I told them where I was staying, remarked, "That's the best hotel in town." During the duration of my stay this was confirmed. The staff were excellent; they knew their jobs, were smartly dressed and customer friendly. Service was excellent. The rooms were large and... more

As we are members of Fairmont Presidents Club we used a suite upgrade. The suite was large but shabby and had no opening windows. We moved the next day to a very bright Fairmont room with opening windows and our suite credit went to our next reservation in Banff. The maid service, room service,valet/porter/concierge ( all one great well informed person),front... more

I stayed at the Fairmont on business in September 2007 after having stayed there a couple times a few years back. While the service was extremely good and the location is second to none for those with business at or near Portage & Main, the rooms and common areas appear dated/worn and do not support the high prices charged here... more

Given the price ($260 per night after taxes) and the cache connected with the Fairmont name, I was expecting a luxury hotel experience. Instead, I was treated to a bland hotel room (bigger, but no better than the average Motel 6 room), showers that never reached above lukewarm (not the most pleasant experience in a city nicknamed "Winterpeg"), and the... more

We stayed at The Fairmont over the New Years weekend as just a place to getaway to for our anniversary. We arrived very late - 2am - after driving for 7 hours in an awful ice and snow storm. We were very impressed with the service of this hotel. The valet staff during the day was wonderful. They greeted us... more

If luxury is what you're looking for, then the Fairmont Hotel is the place for you in Winnipeg. The beds were soft with higher thread count sheets, down pillows, etc. There is a plush bathrobe available as well as a mini bar. There is a fitness room with all types of the newer equipment and plenty of them. There is... more

The Fairmont Hotel chain seems to have fallen in standards. Once a great Canadian hotel chain, now foreign owned. Perhaps the foreign owner will upgrade. The Fairmont Winnipeg is a modern bland building - simple lobby. The hotel needs a good reno. The hotel and rooms are worn. We stayed on the "Gold Floor". The room was average, worn furniture,... more

I stayed on one of the Gold level floors so my room may not have been representative of all rooms. The room was large, clean and well-kept. One slight complaint would be that the hot water takes some time to get going. However, the best feature of this hotel is the staff. I have traveled for work extensively across North... more

WOW, Just spent four nights at this hotel and I really could not have been more disppointed. No heat my first night and no hot water on the morning I left - and thats the not so bad stuff. This building is in more need of renovations than and Hotel/Motel I've ever stayed been. No legitimate organization would give more... more
