An elegant, historic hotel in Winnipeg -- these hotels are always my favorite. Courteous, attentive staff --- beautiful dining and bar areas, room service and complimentary coffee or tea brought to your room anytime. We were there for the 'legendary' Sunday Brunch and it is amazing. As hotel guests we paid $25 per person and that is an unbelievable price... More

Beautiful grand hotel will not disappoint. Small rooms but well laid out so it didn't feel small, high ceilings, amazing big screen tv hung on wall. Highlight for me was the lounge and breakfast. Piano player serenades you in the evening. Really good food, excellent staff and all the amenities you expect from a top rated hotel. Try the meatloaf... More

The Fort Garry is a wonderfully preserved 100-year-old hotel dating from the glory days of train travel. You should stay there just for the experience, just as you should stay at El Tovar at the Grand Canyon or The Plaza in NYC. The Fort Garry has all the trappings of a modern hotel, but delivers them with the charm and... More

I have visited hotel a number of times. I remember the days when it had the Crystal Casino on the top floor, and one had to be formally dressed to enter. Ahhh, those were the days. Beautiful, ornate ballrooms reminiscent of an elegant past of rail travel. This hotel was built close to the railway station on a nice, tree-lined... More

I just enjoyed a one night stay "romance package" for my anniversary with my spouse. We ended up with a suite, free valet parking, food basket with champagne and the famous sunday buffet breakfast. It was fantastic overall. As one reviewer mentioned it's the staff that makes the hotel as well as the services offered. The staff really are world... More

We stayed for 2 nights. The first room we were given had a thermostat that was not working, within 10 minutes after phoning the front desk a valet came to our room with keys to another room. Great service. We had breakfast at the hotel on Sat. and the hostess was great!! She made sure we had a booking for... More

The Fort Garry has had exemplary service in the past so we were surprised that they had no record of our confirmed return reservation on their computer. We were forced to make other arrangements. They found the confirmation in the managers possession and apologized.

The hotel is beautiful on the outside and has a very nice lobby. It is in a good location as well. The staff was very friendly but understaffed. Our bed was not made all day until we called down one day and learned that one staff member did not show so our housekeeper was cleaning many extra rooms. The rooms... More

Without a doubt, an important landmark in Winnipeg, excellent location and facilities to handle a variety of special events---weddings, conferences, special occasions. Main floor and activity floors are well decorated and very comfortable----nice feel to the lobby and lobby bar. Unfortunate that many of the rooms did not have the same attention---poorly maintained, not particularly clean and many rooms too... More

We booked this Hotel for a week knowing Winnipeg Prices are high anyway so we decided to stay in this Landmark Hotel. We went to our room on the second floor. Bed looked antique, but was old, soft and worn out. The windows didn't open and the old air conditioner didn't work. The TV was the older CRT type. Older... More
