Whether its Frank Albo at the Manitoba Legislature giving his tours or its their yoga studio downtown or the hotel itself once owned by the railroad, it seems its all about the money. Everything is outdated, staff is scare and food service is lacking not to mention followup customer service and don't dare complain or expect any concessions, not in... More

I travel to Winnipeg several times every year for business and always stay at the Fort Garry. It has retained the elegance and character of a bygone era and added some modern amenities to make you feel special during your stay. Every room has a different layout and decor features so it is always interesting to see what you will... More

We lived in Winnipeg decades ago and the Ft. Garry was always the most sylish hotel in town. We stayed there recently due to a tour (Natural Habitats) that included a couple nights there. We arrived before the tour started, to reacquaint ourselves with the city. Public rooms: Gorgeous! Classic! Superlatives! Guest rooms: At the start of our trip, we... More

Its amazing that a hotel with the history of this one can get even better with age. The hotel is simply beautiful in a rich historical sense that cannot likely be duplicated today. Staff are attentative and pleasant. I have have stayed here a few times over the years, and the hotel keeps upgrading the amenities while retaining its classy... More

Stayed at the Fort Garry for a weekend while in town for a family event. This property, one of the Canadian railway hotels built, probably in the late 19th or early 20th century has been updated with modern stuff, like in the bathrooms, but has retained much of the original feel and style of an earlier era in the overall... I loved the hotel, with all it's history and ghost stories. We rented 3 rooms (1 beside the haunted room). Although there were no creepy happenings it was great to hear the stories. The rooms were comfortable and the service was fantastic. Don't miss the Sunday brunch. I wish my stomach was bigger because the food was fabulous. The wait... More

Beautiful, historic hotel with comfortable rooms. Excellent service and accommodations. Bar and restaurant service was great. We had two different rooms, both of which were very nice. A wonderful change from modern franchise hotels. Breakfasts were amazing - buffet with a chef to make omelets and specials as requested. One chef was jovial, friendly, and made our morning special.

This is a wonderful historic hotel. Although the rooms needed a bit of TLC, the service was wonderful. Coffee and tea delivered to the room within 5 minutes of calling (no charge) and coffee delivered in the morning, also for no charge. Breakfast was lovely, and location was great. We would certainly stay here again.

This is one of Canada's old railroad hotels, just two blocks from the station. It's in the heart of town and just a short walk to the river walk, the Forks(entertainment district) and the legislature buildings. Great location. It's grand and old, and it shows some wear here and there, but mostly the ambiance is warm and classy. Our room... More
