I went to Winnipeg on business. It's more of a European-style hotel with the small rooms. I had a few strange things happen to me in the room. My TV wouldn't change channels, but my volume would go up and down. Also, my lamp wouldn't turn off. When I called the front desk they sent up the maintenance guy and... more

We stayed here two nights on the way to and from a tour in Churchill. The service at the hotel is very good. They will bring complimentary tea or coffee to your room anytime. The hot breakfast is excellent, with hot cereal, cold cereal, pastries, excellent scones, and eggs to order as well as available breakfast meat. There are two... more

I have recently stayed at the Radisson, the Place Louis Riel, and the Fort Garry. I have read that the Fort Garry is older but booked it anyway for the character and charm. Well, the rooms were certainly more outdated than charming! We were first placed in a standard room with a double bed. I cannot imagine charging anyone over... more

The public areas are beautifully restored especially the old fashioned bar. I love the linens, the coffee which is delivered to your room in the morning and the breakfast is great. This hotel has the BEST beds. I look forward to returning for another visit. more

The Fort Garry is an old hotel (about 90 years old) that harkens back to a gentler, less hurried time. The staff are excellent, polite, pleasant and efficient. The location is very good, just a block from the train station and a couple of blocks from The Fork. Our room was large, nicely furnished and decorated in a stlye appropriate... more

To be honest I do not prefer these old hotels anyway and this just renewed that feeling. Yes it's old and has history but it probably would be better if it was owned by Fairmont or something where somebody was willing to spend TONS of money on this place. It is simply an old feeling. Rooms - They are old;... more

HI, the hotel has an old charm and one of the few of its kind in the whole continent of north America. I stayed at room 202 for it's reputation of being haunted. Though quite skeptic, I did not change outside the washroom though I was alone and prayed fpr protection and privacy both in the bathroom and as I... more

BAD: First of all, don't drink the water. That's right, the Aquafina that's ever so nicely placed with cups for your convinence. It's 5 dollars plus tax. They tell you when you check out that theres a written warning on it...But I swear I didn't see it, nor did my girlfriend. Also, the Fitness Area...where the pool is was such... more

For starters...who is the marketing director here? How many people actually want to stay in a haunted hotel. NOT ME! I was told by a local that this is actually the staging point of Winnipeg ghost tour. Is that suppose to intice someone to stay here? You can actually pick up a 'haunted hotel' brochure at the front desk which... more
