Stayed here for three nights in early July. I was originally booked in the Bear Country Inn (BCI) but because the train was not running and there were very few tourists in town the BCI was closed and I was switched to the Churchill Motel owned by the same owner. John Jr. ( the owner) was a most accommodating host.... More

The town is very small and there are not many choices. You are there to see and photograph the polo bears and not there to stay in a 5 star hotel. The hotel is the best in town. Enjoy the rustic flavor and not worry about anything else!

First of, remember where you are going, Churchill. If you are not there to work, chances are you are there to do a polar bear viewing tour (AKA, Polar Bear Tundra Buggy or Rover ride). Given this, the options in Church are limited, the standards for all hotels are about the same, the bar for what constitutes a 'good' hotel/motel... More

This hotel is not luxury, but works as well as can be expected for a far off, out of the way place. The heating keep he room comfortable, the lighting was good, and the TV worked. Lots of food at breakfast buffet. Shower took a while, but worked. No one comes to Churchill for the hotel. This one serves its... More

Although certainly not luxurious, the Churchill Motel provided us with a comfortable, cosy stay during our 4 day excursion to see Polar bears. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The housekeeping was a bit haphazard. On some days there would be coffee sachets but no milk or sugar; on other days there would be coffee but nothing... More

We did not come to Churchill for a five star experience, so we were not disappointed at all. The motel could really use some updating but again that is what we expected. The bed was firm and surprisingly not as uncomfortable as it looked. We slept quite well. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. It was... More

First let me say that you don't come to Churchill for a relaxing 5 star hotel experience. YOU COME TO SEE THE POLAR BEARS. The hotel is in desperate need of some updating. The paint was peeling of the walls, towels thread bare, and the toilet seat was misaligned by about 2 inches. The beds are horrible. That said -... More

There's nothing fancy about this motel. The rooms are warm and comfortable; everything works, and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a luxury experience, probably Churchill is not the place you should be visiting. On the other hand, if you're looking for a bright,, well run place to spend nights, and meet the locals in one... More

Stayed for three nights Nov 12.It appears that Motel is now leased by Doug to Natural Habitat. We found the rooms large and comfortable but perhaps a little too warm at night, despite an outside temp.of -20C .Bathroom rather dated but very clean with copious hot water.Staff were excellent and extremely helpful both at reception and in the restaurant.Food was very good... I stayed last year in Oct/Nov 2011 for bear season. I was able to get a room and Doug responded to my emails prompty when asking for a reservation. He paid for the taxi from the airport (airport pickup). As others have mentioned - the rooms are a bit dated but they are very clean and there is a TV... More
