Churchill is small town only accessible by small plane or train and the Lazy Bear Lodge is one of the nicer accommodations available in the Polar Bear Capitol of the World. You are met upon arrival at the airport by the representatives of Lazy Bear Lodge. The lodge is equipped with everything you need - Wi-fi, private bath/shower, cable television,... More

This place has the rustic and charming warmth to make your stay perfectly suited for a visit to a remote community such as Churchill. From the well organized scheduling of the actual travel arrangements - to the clean cozy rooms - to the fantastic staff (owners and employees) - we were extremely impressed. I was incredibly impressed by the "above... More

Stayed here with a tour group. Perfect atmosphere for being up north in the fall. The food is AMAZING! Comfortable beds, cozy rooms. Complementary cookies & tea near the wood stove. I would love to return. Interesting story of the owner & lumber used to build the lodge.

Great find in Churchill. I think it's the only log building in town and appears to be the only non pre-fab! Nice, helpful owners and friendly, helpful staff. The food was a lovely surprise--lots of fresh vegetables and salads which must come by air. We were told that each room had two queen beds, but they were doubles. We are... More

Churchill, capital in the polar bear country. End of October the small town is being filled up with bear hunters armed with large telelenses taped to their cameras to get a glimpse of a white bear. The Logde is one of the better inns in the small town, but since it does not serve any type of alcohol you have... More

We stayed here as part of the 5 day tour via Trailfinders. I would say that the best time to visit is the first week in November when we went. The Lodge is pretty nice, the food choice is a little limited and nothing too fancy. However, the Bison is worth tasting as it is like the most tender beef... More

If you only take one piece of advice this year make it this: Do not book the last week of the Polar Bear tour at the Lazy Bear Lodge. It is very weather dependant and an early freezing of the Hudson Bay enticed all the bears out of view. We were initially greeted by the cheery words "unfortunately you won't... More

Have just got back from an awesome trip to Churchill to see polar bears. If you are thinking of going just do it, you won't be disappointed. The lodge is just great and the tours fantastic, we were Aurora tour with Aaron and Tress, who were brilliant guides and great fun. The bears were epic! The dog mushing tour a... More

Awesome vacation at the lodge which was unique built with indigenous logs. It was welcoming Comfortable and friendly. Delicious homemade cookies, tea and coffee were always left bt the wood burning stove for quests to enjoy. The meals at the Lodge were superb. The homemade bread was excellent. The polar bear tours led by very knowledgable guides were exciting, well Planned... More

We stayed here for three nights as part of a Tauck tour to see the polar bears (which we did). It is necessary to remember the location of Churchill, no roads connecting to the rest of Canada, at the end of a 1000 mile long railway and one airfield. On this basis we thought the Lazy Bear was excellent. The... More
