We really enjoyed the Lazy Bear, it's comfortable and cozy and by comparison in my opinion is the place to stay in Churchill. The rooms are simple but updated and very clean, staff is friendly and the guides were excellent. It has alot of charm, which one can't necessarily say of the rest of town. One thing people should know... More

The Lazy Bear is exactly where you would want to stay for a Polar Bear Adventure. The lodge is completely made of logs with gorgeous stone fireplaces in the dining room and lounge. The rooms are warm and spotless. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The food in the Lazy Bear Cafe is delicious. The Lazy Bear provides a... More

The hotel is Rustic looking, even down to the incredibly heavy chair in your room, everything is made of trees. It is the prefect central base for your explorations in Churchill. Its the hotel you pictured in your mind when you imagined Churchill and its overall charm compared to the prefab bleakness of the other hotels will win you over.The... More

We spent three unforgettable nights here on a polar bear adventure. From our arrival in Churchill on a tiny plane into a tiny airport, we were mesmerised by the town's stark charm. Our first impression of the lodge was that it looked warm and inviting in the surrounding frost and snow, like the front of a Christmas card. The lodge... More

A wonderful newer log lodge. You have the feel of the North. Great heat in a cool place. Nice dining room with a beautiful free standing stone fireplace. Great staff and owner who is on the scene. Very clean More

I did not stay at the Lazy Bear on my trip to Churchill, but I did take a couple of their excursions and eat in the restaurant. I found the staff very helpful, even though I was not a guest at the Lodge. They helped me arrange my tours and called other tour operators when I was not able to... More

My Mother and I stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge this summer and booked the Ultimate summer adventure package. The hotel is beautiful and the food was very good (try the Arctic Char or the Caribou). The free breakfast every morning was deluxe and included french toast, bacon, pancakes, eggs and fruit (among other things). What really struck us about... More

Classic newly constructed "rustic lodge" with all of the amenities; in-house guide and expedition services, restaurant (no bar). We were there in late November and saw probably 50-60 bears including a number of close encounters A truly unique, one-of-a-kind experience. Would definitely go back More

First of all I want to say the lodge is excellent. The rooms are very good, the service fine and the staff excels in making you feel welcome. The fine is good but the menu limited. Menu prices are on the high side. There is no computer access but each room does have a phone. Beware your cell phone may... More
