Our room was very rich with beautiful fir floors, a 4 poster bed and jacuzzi tub. The kids absolutely enjoyed the bubble bath. Marketa's is in the perfect location - just a 5 minute walk from the harbor. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a complete surprise - most b&bs will give you cereal and fruit, but... more

I've recently moved to Vancouver and came back to Victoria for a visit during the Thanksgiving weekend. None of my friends or family could put me up so I decided to find a nice, but cheap B&B to spend a couple nights in. Thank goodness for this 1912 delight! The house was antique and decorated with Marketa's beautiful artwork and... more

To those who write bad reviews about such a wonderful place- they need to stop being so rich and prissy - This house is from 1912, its beautiful and has character! The staff is lovely, Marketa and her son Jacob are artistic, friendly and have the warmest hearts. Full cooked gourmet breakfast, close to downtown and the ocean, and On... more

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Marketas and enjoyed our stay very much. The most memorable aspect, now that I look back, was the awesome muffins they served every morning - oatmeal base with lots of fruit and nuts - warm out of the oven. The young people serving breakfast (you order what you want off a menu... more

We have been staying at Marketa's for 8 years and have never felt the need to look for another B&B in Victoria. The location is excellent- within walking distance of most of our favourite spots, including Ogden Point for an early morning or late night stroll, and one of the best Indian restaurants we know of for dinner. The breakfasts... more

I visit Victoria quite often and have stayed at Marketa's on a number of different occasions with various groups of people. We have always enjoyed our stay and felt right at home in this charming, yet elegant house which displays a lot of Marketa's own beautiful artwork. I have stayed in a couple of the rooms and while my favorites... more

I dont understand what other reviewers are talking about when they say the rooms/house is great. There is nothing nice about the house. It is very old and rundown. We stayed in a room on the lower level. It was disgusting. Dirty, paint peeling, the beds creaked and sunk into the middle. It was terrible. Thank goodness we only stayed... more

not sure what what the reviewer is talking about? there is not peeling pain in the house, actually it wall paper. the house is heritage house build in 1912, old but well kept and recently renovated. mattresses are hotel quality and changed every few years, following the industry guide lines. the bed and breakfast is government inspected and would not...

I stayed at Marketas B&B the end of Sept, when Victoria is at it's most beautiful, the air is crisp, and tree leafs have fallen. If you have never been to Victoria and experienced all it's wonders and sights during the fall time, I highly recommend it! I have stayed here before, last summer, staying in the room upstairs. I've... more

I booked one of the budget rooms, and it really was a budget room. I don't mind basic rooms, however I do mind smelly rooms! The room was in the basement and I don't think much air could get in as the room smelt very doggy! Although I have to stay the room was immaculate and very clean. I probably... more

Hi guys, what I have to say on Marketa’s B&B? We started there our vacation in Vancouver Island and it was a great start but also, thanks to the tips that Marketa gave us, we definitely had such a great time all around the island. We didn’t know anything about Marketa before and we just reserved the 1st night there,... more
