The location is just perfect, right in the middle of all touristic attractions, but quiet enough to have a good night rest. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are big, clean, comfortable and have everything you need during your stay. Easily to find by car and parking space available for only $5 a night!

Walked in the wrong building at first, was welcomed by the smell of urine. Found our room, which is basically a converted basement next to the laundry, boxing in the hallway, doors of the hinges and a bad smell. The room itself looks ok. Never pay more than sixty bucks to stay in this hostel

We have enjoyed staying at the helms Inn in Victoria for that past 8 years. The rooms are clean , comfortable , have a kitchenette, sitting /eating area and either a Murphy bed or pull out. You can get one room or a one bedroom. The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown area, the ocean, James Bay area, Cook... More

Eau de decaying British Empire-old rose/civet, cigarette burn holes in the couch of non-smoking room, hairs in the bedsheets(were they changed after last guest?), haphazard and cheap utensils/dinnerware in the kitchen, nonfunctioning AC

We came here only for one night, but it was very nice. The room we had was literally around the corner from the front desk. I was terrified we would be listening to noise all night, but it wasn't noisy at all! The room was very spacious and had a great kitchen. The hotel itself is situated close to town,... More

The Helms Inn does what many hotels and Inns fail to do. The management maintains an older building in perfectly fine shape and they manage to keep it up and keep it updated quite nicely. It is a busy inn, and it is very conveniently located. It is NOT new, but, as I said, it is quite nice. It is... More

We were hesitant to book this hotel simply because of exterior pictures. However, after a recommendation from family, we gave it a try. It was wonderful. We had a king bed in the Thunderbird building. The suite had a kitchen, sitting area, and if you need it a Murphy bed in the closet. The only down side was no elevator,... More

Perfectly situated for Beacon Hill Park and the Inner Harbor. We walked to both everyday. Our room was clean but felt small for a family of five. The front desk was cordial and helpful. It was fine for what we needed for our short stay.

We stayed at Helm's Inn for two nights and enjoyed our stay a lot, as well as the beautiful city of Victoria. We stayed in a spacious room, with living room and kitchenette. Everything is present to make your stay comfortable. Thanks to the great location, you can reach city centre after a lovely walk of 5 minutes. If you... More

Not the prettiest hotel to look at by a long way but absolutely nothing wrong with anything once you get inside. Parking was a bit tight but OK. We stayed in the main building so can't comment on the other buildings but the reception was nice with free coffee and fruit on the go all day. I don't know if... More
