My partner and I had our first B&B experience here last week. Gini and Roger are very charming people, and their home is beautiful. We stayed in the Hummingbird Suite. The room was nice, comfortable, and relaxing. The deck has a great view of the water, and the sitting room is another bonus. Gini is a great artist, and her... More

We stayed at several B&Bs on Vancouver Island and numerous others in the US. Birdwatch Retreat is top notch. The Hummingbird gives two rooms plus a nice porch with a beautiful view out over the water. Wireless and the TV in the sitting room were useful, although we only checked weather on the TV. Breakfast was a scrumptious feast every... More

POSITIVES: <1> Absolutely delicious breakfasts! Over the course of three mornings, we had three plentiful and tasty dishes: quiche, eggs benedict and sausage pie (my favorite). We were also served fresh-baked breads/pastries each morning, along with fresh fruit and yogurt dishes. <2> Very friendly hosts. Helpful and kind. Even the pooch had great manners and was very welcoming! <3> Spacious... More

A beautiful B&B - one of the best in BC! Gini and Roger are wonderful hosts, the ranch-style-breakfast ist delicious and in the house it's an very relaxing atmosphere. All you need for a perfect stay. At the waterfront of the house did otters playing and blue herons catched their fish. The two rooms of the hummingbird suite are very... More

We stayed at Birdwatch retreat for three nights as part of a business trip. We could not have been happier - so much better than staying in a hotel. Breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the work day. The rooms are large and very comfortable with separate sitting areas that look out over the water. We will... More

Gini was so accommodating - happy to fill us in on local history and best places for cycling, hiking and eating. One of the features of our room was a beautiful balcony with sunset views. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely retreat. Gini and Roger made the place feel like a home away from home. The rooms were comfortable and luxurious, the balcony a nice place to relax, and the sitting room was comfortable. However, it was breakfast that really sold me on the place. Every morning we were greeted by a breakfast... More

Stayed for two days and was sorry to leave. Perfect hosts, excellent breakfasts, comfortable, clean, and spacious. The outdoor porch was an added bonus. One of the best values in Victoria. We were sad to not be able to use the fireplace, but it hardly detracted from our stay...it would just have iced the cake if we could! Will go... More

Unfortunately we were only at the Birdwatch Retreat for one night, however it was enough to encourage us to go back whenever we are in the Victoria area. Gini and her husband Roger go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and right at home. The back balcony view overlooking the inlet is gorgeous and peaceful, perfect for... More

The Bird watch retreat was a beautiful home away from home. We stayed for 2 weeks with Gini and Roger and enjoyed our quiet and spacious environment. The room has a fridge, ensuite bathroom, sitting room as well as a kettle/coffee press and utensils to have an afternoon snack back at the room. The view was amazing, over looking the... More
