I found this via Trip Advisor. With the excellent reviews it got, I expected it to be out of my price range, but $115 Canadian per night was a pleasant surprise. This was far less than any comparable hotel rooms I could find in Victoria. The location is superb -- blocks from the Royal BC Museum / waterfront / Parliament... more

I can only support other reviewers in their praise. We stayed in two rooms and both were done to a very high standard with lots of small but wonderful details. Needless to say, they were very clean and comfortable. Gaevin was very helpful in all respects and his dining recommendations were always very good. The breakfast was outstanding - a... more

We loved our stay and Gavin and Gae were wonderful unobtrusive hosts. They kindly booked our fantastic whale watching trip and it is just a pity we could not stay any longer. Breakfasts were sumptuous as was our room, fabulously decorated and in keeping with the period of the house. We are sorry that we just forgot to complete the... more

It's hard to decide what to describe first--the "bed" or the "breakfast". Our rooms were luxurious--fine linens adorned the bed, the bathroom featured both a whirlpool tub and showers as well as plush, cozy bathrobes. The setting was cozy yet elegant. The breakfasts, however, were what made Ambrosia stand out from the crowd. Served in an elegant dining room, the... more

We came here on our honeymoon and like I said- everything was just perfect! Gavin and Gae were delightful hosts and they make the best gourmet breakfast EVER! I tried and enjoyed things I never would normally think to try for breakfast (I'm a picky eater)~ and was always pleasantly delighted. The location was perfect! Just a block away from... more

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the Isis Room. I don't know what I could write that hasn't been said by other reviewers, but I will echo the positive reports. Wonderful room, great location, and one of the best breakfasts we had in British Columbia. The only drawback (not a criticism) - the innkeepers kept mostly out... more

We stayed at Ambrosia for 2 nights in July 09. We received a warm welcome on arrival and then found out we had been upgraded to the Isis room which I can highly recommend, the Jacuzzi bath was amazing! The breakfast was delicious and when we had to leave early on our last morning Gavin made us a lovely packed... more

Lovely old building in a quiet location yet well placed just a few minutes walk from the Waterfront and Victoria's main attractions and restaurants. Ground floor room was spacious with a superb en suite bathroom. Nice guest lounge area adjoining breakfast room. Excellent varied breakfasts. On site parking Gavin knowledgeable and very personable host. Highly recommended. more

More than we anticipated for the week we were there. We had a conference and an anniversary to attend, and Gavin was more than accommodating to help us to find our way around. The breakfast was different each morning-beautifully presented and prepared. The room was very clean with a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. more

Staying at Ambrosia B&B was a lovely experience. There was a feeling of being well-cared for, yet a respect for privacy. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. The food was extraordinary. And, the personal touches by Gavin and Gae are too numerous to count. I would not hesitate to stay with them again. more
