We stayed here on the bottom floor. It was busy but we never heard anything once the door was closed. Was clean, basic, and we had an air conditioner which we did use as this October has been unseasonably warm. The huge bonus about this motel is the location, We parked our vehicle and walked everywhere, Great Pubs, restaurants, shopping... More

When I called to book our room, more than a month in advance, I asked for a courtyard room and was promised one. Didn't happen. Dust everywhere in the room, something in the toilet, very hot and stuffy. Very rowdy and noisy with teenagers after a concert finished. Won't stay there again.

My husband booked for 2 nights.. Late at night after a long drive.. When we saw the room we thought good enough for tonight.. Too tired too look elsewhere... Old awful uncomfortable beds... Smelled dirty.. Someone's hair in bathtub.. No air conditioning or fan.. Just felt really dirty... Checked out ASAP in morning... Will never stay there again.. My husband... More

Overall it's a budget motel, with the good and bad that goes with the territory, but it does have a certain retro appeal that reminded me of a place where a '70s rock band could stay. There's nothing terribly wrong unless you consider a/c a must (Victoria nights tend to be cool). The rooms, cleanliness and service are adequate if... More

The location is very convenient, and the rooms are typical 2-star hotel rooms. There is no AC, so the rooms can get quite hot if you're traveling in the summer. Also, the Wi-fi is fast late at night and early in the morning, but otherwise it is quite slow.

Temperatures were at 30C (90F) and assumed A/C was in the room but no it wasn't and almost checked out due to extreme heat in room. Sink and bathtub both were clogged. Get what you pay for. Restaurant was very good and average priced. Walk to downtown/Chinatown and inner harbour.

Not only did the room have an overall feel of dirtiness, but we also had no hot water for showers! Dust was thick everywhere, the coffee/tea basket had not been replenished (there was used sugar packets in the basket still!), the pillows were flat and small and a large spider occupied the room with us. We did get a small... More

We needed a reasonable place to sleep close to the inner harbor - It was clean ,reasonable priced ,easy to book . Unfortually the Air Condition was out of service and we had a very hot night . The couryard outside gave the hotel a nice character .

Stayed for 1 night, hotel was in a handy location. Offered good value compared to other hotels. The room was tidy and clean although older style. If you are on a budget and want a simple place for the night it will do the job fine

We travel to Victoria periodically and want a very convenient "bed and bath" to stay. Paul's is an old, clean and reliable motel but no frills or luxury. It is extremely convenient to everything, concerts at the Safeway centre, China town, shopping and, being a motel there is easy access to your room and free parking. The area is very... More
