Pool Party! I had my 34th birthday at Hotel Zed last week and it was amazing! We had fun in the indoor heated pool, complete with water slide — it starts outside and finishes in a separate pool inside. So much fun. From there, we cooled down in the outdoor hot tub. Some friends also used the sauna. After the... More

Room was spotless, beds very comfortable, great value and very cute. Windows and doors do not seal tightly so every sound from the exterior walkway to the highway seemed to make in into our room. I am not a sound sleeper so this in not the place for me. If you have a car or downtown is not your main... More

Hey TravelsalotCalgary. Thanks for taking the time to review us! We are so happy you found the room in top shape and comfortable. Appreciate your comments about the doors not sealing tight. We are in fact just going through the whole property and replacing thresholds and weather stripping so you should find things quieter in the near future. I hope... More

My wife and I booked 4 nights over the holidays and absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Zed. Since we have a car, we didn't mind staying just outside the downtown core (5-10 minute cab or free shuttle at the hotel) and it's also conveniently located across the street from a mall and health food store for amenities. The... More

Was exactly as advertised: decorated with a 60's feel. Room was spotless clean, everything worked, and it was so cute. Great shower too, and the Ruby restaurant on site is was a surprising gem as well. Well done, we'll be back!

This is a super cool establishment, we especially enjoyed the ZEDinator (neat pool slide), and the vintage Volkswagen shuttle to the city. Everything is pretty and everyone is nice! A must if your mind is in the 70s, but wonderful for anyone really. Our favorite hotel in BC.

My family of four stayed in the "cottage" - a separate building behind the main hotel. The decor was consistent with the funky vibe we experienced in the lobby and the amenities and furnishings were of great (and fun) quality. This is a great unit for a family, as it includes two bedrooms, a full kitchen and a super-comfy leather... More

What a great make over of a mid 20th Century motel, for the money Hotel Zed was a real delight with clever mid 20th Century style furnishings and colour schemes. Loved touches like the lime green rotary dial telephones with how to use instructions for Generaton Y. Loved the free shuttle service in 1950's VW Combi wagons. No need to... More

Fun idea! Rotary phones, 60's decor, VW shuttle bus! This is an older motel revamped to a COOL 60's motif. Best price by far for a clean room in the Victoria area. Motel is not walking distance from the harbor. Take a taxi, the free shuttle bus, or buy a $5 all day bus pas to get around. All that's... More

It seems to be an old motel completely made over, now a colourful and youth inspiring accommodation. Reasonably close to downtown and offering free shuttle rides to it - in one of the new and very cute Volkswagen minivans the hotel keeps handy - this place is nicer than expected, based on price and neighbourhood. The rooms are very, very... More

Great way that an old motel has been changed into a trendy little gem. Very comfortable rooms with real amenities that guest want. From the phones, record players, ping pong table, free coffee, etc, etc.
