I have stayed at the James Bay Inn Hotel and Suites numerous times in my 15 yrs living in BC. I believe I have stayed in 90% of the rooms. The ownership, management and the long time staff make you feel like you belong. The care and attention that is given to a guest is 1st class. An old building... More

This Inn dates back to the late 1800's and has no elevator. However the staff were most helpful in carrying our luggage up the two flights a stairs to our suite on the top floor. As we were both disabled with bad backs, this was not suitable to our limitations. Cafe on the ground floor was quite well run and... More

I had a "petit" room which was perfect for a solo traveler. Employees at the desk were great. Came in late one night really craving a cup of hot tea, the man at the desk got a cup for me. I think that was outside his actual duties, but it was greatly appreciated.

Older hotel with many character features in the quiet area of Victoria behind the Legislative Buildings. Offers good value and friendly staff and a restaurant and a bar downstairs. The restaurant provides hearty breakfasts at very reasonable prices. I will definitely return again and would recommend this hotel to those who like a comfortable stay, a comfortable price without resorting... More

Old fashioned historical hotel with stairs and no elevator, actual keys for the door locks and vintage décor in the lobby. Our room had the closet located IN the bathroom! Hotel is located in a suburb of downtown Victoria, so it's much quieter and peaceful, so it's a good hotel to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle.... More

Cosy hotel. Friendly staff. Ideally located- 5-10 min. walk to centre. Good restaurant inside hotel building with 15% rabat off breakfast and meals for hotel guests. The hotel is located in a neighborhood area, so it`s pretty quiet at night.

Stayed for the first time recently and was amazed at the ornate beauty of this old girl. Dating back to 1911 you can still see the old world craftsmanship adorning the place. Excellent value, location and friendly, helpful staff. Love the old woodwork. If you want 5 star modern tile and marble, don't stay here. If you appreciate great craftsmanship... More

The James Bay Inn is our destination whenever we visit Victoria. It is a cute, character filled, early 1900s hotel a couple of blocks behind the legislature. The rooms are clean, roomy and have lots of character - this isn't any Holiday Inn, this one is fun to stay at. Even the hallways and stairs are unique, with each floor... More

We stayed one night whilst visiting relatives in Victoria. The location of the hotel is great, we had traveled in by coach and ferry which stops behind the Empress hotel and from there it was a short five minute walk. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the room was cosy and clean. I had requested a quiet room... More

Three couples went on a bicycle trip to Victoria from Vancouver, BC. We bicycled from the ferry terminal at Swartz Bay to Victoria. We stayed at the James Bay Inn Hotel for two nights. The rooms were all a good size. Numerous areas for all of us to get together and chat. A great balcony where we could have wine... More
