The location of the hotel was great very close to parliament and Government street. The room was clean and so was the bathroom, however there was a wide gap under the door revealing the light from the corridor. It was so wide that somebody could have peeked through if they wanted to. This needs to be rectified.

We love the JBI. They give you a voucher for 15% off at the Pub downstairs which is decently priced to begin with. The corner rooms are great - lots of light and the bed is a dream. It has character, staff are approachable and great location.

As part of our Christmas gift, we spent 3 days in Victoria, and stayed 2 nights at the James Bay Inn. Very cozy, comfortable, quiet, and clean Inn. A 8-minute walk to downtown Victoria. The Inn has a restaurant and a bar. At the Reception Desk, one can get coupons for a 15% discount on meals. Good service, and coffee... More

I recently spent 2 nights in Victoria, BC as part of a package deal on the Victoria Clipper. The price was $310 for the ferry, hotel and a visit to the Butchart Gardens to see the holiday lights. The ferry ride was pleasant - we left at sunrise on a clear day, so the view from the ferry was awesome,... More

I chose the James Bay Inn because of its proximity to an event I wanted to attend. I needed to stay overnight. Lovely place to stay. Quiet, yet easy walk to the beautiful Victoria Harbour, Parliament Buildings, Museum, Beacon Hill Park, etc. Because the hotel is very old, I had expected it to be shabby. It was NOT. Its warmly... We were upgraded on our arrival to a large "apartment" in the little house next to the main hotel with a fully equipped kitchen, making it possible to prepare meals instead of eating out, a great money-saver. The location is an easy walk to downtown and there's a large supermarket a couple blocks away. The attached restaurant/bar seems a friendly... More

We had 3 nights at this hotel in a quaint room with a huge bathroom and despite being on the ground floor was remarkedly quiet. It is walking distance to all the sights.Restaurant is good value. Staff were very helpful as I had phone problems and directed me to a small store who resolved the problems. Only moan, no tea... More

My father and I stayed in the family room for two nights. It's a great price for a room that feels like two. The hotel is old and historical. When we went on a carriage ride, it actually stopped in front of the James Bay Inn and talked about it's history. There is a gorgeous old victorian across the street,... More

From check in to check out, the staff at this inn are fabulous: helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The room was all you would want in a city where you are busy all day. The coffee in the lobby is excellent and available at early bird hours.....the café and pub are good - prices are competitive and service is great. The... More
