We stayed at the Gatsby Mansion in May of 2008. We took the Victoria Clipper over from Seattle on a day when the water was pretty rough. When we arrived we were pleased to find that the Mansion was directly across the street from where the Clipper docked. It is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast Inn. The staff was most... more

Having never been to victoria I wanted to treat my fiance and I to a romantic get-a-way. Based primarily on the location, I booked a stay at the Gatsby Inn. It was a little more expensive which I thought would translate into a quality place to stay. I was very wrong. Our room was very poorly kept. We could not... more

I was looking for a little B&B to stay in Victoria for a small get away with my husband. The website photo's looked cute. Our room was far from it. It was Pink carpet, pink bedding, pink curtains. But it was more a dusty rose -- as in FILTHY pink. The carpet was so dirty looking. The bathroom smelled like... more

Stayed for one night during, October 2007. Gatsby has a great location and a great views of the harbor. We enjoyed a delicious free breakfast with excellent service. Also had the English Tea which was very authentic and was good value for the money, $24. Two words of caution: Room Number 1 is above the kitchen. The noise was quite... more

Wanted to thank the staff at the Gatsby for a very pleasant stay. We arrived late and tired from a long day. Maybe they had read the other critiques but Kevin warmly welcomed us and carried our bags to the room. We stayed in the room that other travellers had commented about ( the one with the iron burn on... more

I was very excited to stay in the Victorian house during my stay in Victoria, BC but found much the same problems as others who have reviewed. When I arrived, immediately after arriving on the only ferry that day and driving to Victoria there was no one to check us in and was directed to the larger hotel next door,... more

Wonderful place with special ambiance--old mansion with bed and breakfast (unless you book through expedia and don't get breakfast with same priced accommodation.) We paid $140.00 a night, which is a great bargain in season. The rooms are spacious and nice and clean. However, there is a bathtub present but no shower :-(. A few things to know: 1. Gatsby... more

Just spent a fantastic weekend at the Gatsby Mansion. Walking distance to town, delicious breakfast and guest rooms with real personality. Yes it's a old -- that's the charm! We stayed with our 1 year old and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating of our needs. If you're looking for modern and contemporary, then this is not for you,... more

It's a lovely, creaky old place with tons of charm, very intimate, just like you want a historic old property to be. The check-in was friendly and flawless, very accomodating, found us a crib for the baby when we had forgotten to ask for one. The rooms are very clean, charming, not luxurious, but fun and pleasant. I had a... more
