Was looking for a reasonably priced place to stay for a few days in Victoria. Took a chance on the Bedford Regency. Right in the centre of the tourist area, and the lobby is pretty sketchy. Also I know the area and was concerned as the pubs nearby can get noisy. The place was wonderful! Hotel room was cozy, with... More

Went down to Victoria from up island for a wedding yesterday and booked through one of those 'find the best rate' hotel sites for one night in a Standard Queen room at The Bedford Regency. Despite having vacationed and lived in Victoria several times, I have never really notice this primely located boutique hotel. It is a STEAL of a... More

This hotel is a little hidden but is right downtown. If you are looking for the 4 seasons, this is not your place, but if you want an affordable and clean room in the middle of downtown Victoria, this place fits the bill. The room was 'cozy' and reminded my wife of a million places she stayed in the UK.... More

Our room was nice, kind of cutesy, but there was a distinct odor. Great location, we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. Parking was a jaunt and no valet was offered. The complimentary tea was much appreciated.

we stayed here in July 2014 for its location in victoria.we were greeted at reception by the lingering stale beer smell coming from an inadequate partition dividing the reception area in two.the check in was very efficient & we were soon in our room which had an odd layout by having the washbasin in the bedroom part.however the room was... One of the most disappointing "boutique" hotels I have ever stayed in. From the trouble booking a room after buying a Living Social Escape package (always had rooms available, until I mentioned I had a coupon), to the entire experience there, the only good memories of our weekend in Victoria were those spent away from the hotel room. The mattress... More

Loud busker outside most times, pub open in the evening is filthy, parking arrangements are laughable, no place to eat breakfast without walking blocks. Harbour view really looks onto buildings nearer to the harbour than you.

Not recommended at all. Very difficult to book using a living social coupon. Basically they didn't want to know until we got Living social to help us book. Mattress on the bed was terrible, worst night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel! Not enough hot water to take advantage of the jetted tub. Towels thin and cheap. Housekeeping... More

Funky 100+ year old hotel. I stayed in a superior queen (room 38) which had a decent partial view of the harbour. Wood burning fireplace in the room with a sitting area and a new TV. It's in the heart of downtown so if your looking for a quiet place this is not it. Fair amount of street noise that's... More

Prime location on Government street lends itself to choices galore. Old Victoria charm is attempted in the dated rooms, but the fireplace makes the room feel cozy. Nice touch with the cheap bubbly, and jacuzzi tub. The pub in the hotel was hopping but the food was unfortunately disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful. We got a great off... More
