Prime location on Government street lends itself to choices galore. Old Victoria charm is attempted in the dated rooms, but the fireplace makes the room feel cozy. Nice touch with the cheap bubbly, and jacuzzi tub. The pub in the hotel was hopping but the food was unfortunately disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful. We got a great off... More

My wife and I stayed in room 45A on the evening of December 27, 2014. Our plans were a bit last minute as we only found out on Christmas day that my wife's parents would be taking the ferry over to Vancouver Island and we were welcome to join them if we were interested. So the next day we started... More

When making the reservations online, the system asked if I wanted one or two queen beds. We are used to a king sized bed, and practically kill each other half the time in that size, so opted for the two queens only to find out upon check in that there is no such room. You can get the Superior room... More

What can I say great little hotel, small but nice rooms great bang for the buck right in the heart of Victoria. The building and rooms take you back to a romantic turn of the century London flat. Cobble stone streets and a block from the inner harbor. One of my favorites nothing to flashy or fancy.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in November 2014 during a bike trip to Victoria. This hotel has a great location, right downtown next to good nightlife and restaurants. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and let us keep our bikes inside, instead of on the street. What a relief to know our bikes and gear were... More

I only recently moved away from Victoria, and so was excited to stay in the Bedford Hotel recently on a visit as it always looked so charming and kitschy. Judging from other reviews on here there is quite a variation in room layout and cleanliness, due to the age of the hotel I'm guessing. In general the hotel is in... More

Quaint little hotel - very central location. We stayed on the top floor corner unit (2 queen beds) facing the main street. It can get a little noisy but the noise usually dessipates around 9 or 10 pm (minus the occasional drunken soul shouting down the street). Love the old school bathroom, as well as the corridor (the vibe reminded... More

While I do understand that this hotel is ancient looking, I was a bit disappointed in the general cleanliness. While walking up the stairs to my room, I looked over the front awning. It was quite disgusting. Along the hallways could have also done with a good cleaning. I used a Groupon or Living Social coupon, which stated a "superior"... More

If you are the type of traveler that is looking for all of the modern conveniences of an American Hotel chain, this is not the place for you. The hotel is charming and the staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is awesome and is centrally located for all of the tourist attractions. The building is old and the rooms... More

Stayed at the Bedford when in Victoria for the marathon. Most notable is the location for this hotel - it is in Government St., the local shopping avenue, which is also a few steps from the Inner Harbor. The hotel itself is historic, which means old but quaint. I loved it! The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the bedding... More
