We had the garden suite. It was nice having a completely self contained suite, including a kitchen, even though we only used the fridge. We had our own outdoor furnished patio which gets plenty of direct and indirect sunlight. I would say that for Victoria it's not the best value for your money as far as b&b places, but in... More

Well, so many things to say. We loved it. Bed was extremely comfortable, wonderful sheets and down comforter, quiet neighborhood, loved the independence of the checkin ( our names and a key waiting for us) so no worries about time to get in and self-checkout, breakfast was simple, elegant and delicious. It was served from7 to 10, and healthy with... More

We loved our stay! We live in Victoria and had never been there. It was a newly renovated, quaint old, large guest house. Staying in the Garden Suite was great. It had a lovely comfortable bed, great shower, living room, kitchen area and a private garden terrace with comfortable furniture. The breakfast was fresh with lots of lovely options. The... More

My friend and I arrived and truly enjoyed the impact of the common areas being a feeling of history. It was a charming area that I enjoyed when reading at night. It is very reasonably priced and I availed myself of the laundry option (only B&B with one on this trip!). Tom and Paull were kind, willing to answer questions... More

Coming from the UK, we're used to quirky old hotels, so it wasn't the period features which won us over at The Craigmyle. The room was small by North American standards, but it did include a massive bed, which was very comfy, and a good sized shower room. However, if you like creature comforts, such as in-room tea and coffee... More

If you expect TV, microwaves or fridges - go somewhere else! The Craigmyle experience is that of a lovely old house (I understand around 100 years old) in beautiful surroundings. Craigdarroch Castle is directly behind the house in a nice old neigborhood and very quiet. The bedrooms are nicely done and excellent for the price (continental breakfast included too!). A... More

It's more like hostel than and B&B.Not worth more than $80 a night. But, to be fair, the positives first. We asked to change rooms and were accommodated immediately. Shower head and water pressure were good. There were fresh berries each morning. The common rooms are beautifully decorated. Negatives: Garbage cans are kept on the front lawn to greet you... More

So sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. We really wish that your experience would have been different. Tom and Paul happily upgraded your room to a suite with a refrigerator and view of the castle at no extra cost. We are sorry you feel that 135 dollars cdn is overpriced at peak season in Victoria for... More

Stayed here three nights. Nice to be in a residential neighborhood. Easy 10 minute walk to two excellent restaurants, Cafe Brio and Stage. Bus access by Fort and Yates Street to wharf area so we never needed to move our vehicle. Great breakfast included with lodging. Quiet sitting room. Small kitchen area to fix snacks, keep things in fridge. Owners... More

Our recent stay at the Craigmyle was fantastic! It was so nice to arrive and not have the hassle of checking in by a certain time (we arrived around 11 pm) and to come in to a beautiful suite with an amazing view of the castle. We brought some wine and were able to watch tv, relax and enjoy what... More

We were disappointed from the moment the door opened. There was no-one there to greet us (not even a tea tray set out (after all, it is Victoria). They did mention stairs, but we had no idea we would have to climb up three long flights of stairs to get to our room (one outside)! The room was nicely decorated,... More

Thank you so much for your review. I really appreciate your comments. We are sorry you did not have a good experience and wish we could have made it better for you. We have included information about our stairs everywhere. Guests are now calling us and requesting rooms with only one flight of stairs if they have issues with stairs.... More
