Spent two nights at the Union Club and had a wonderful time. The club is conveniently located in the center of town about a block from the waterfront and is close to all of Victoria's sights and activities. Our room was relatively small, but more than adequate for two, and very clean and comfortable. The bath was modern and also... More

Rooms were really nice, bed was amazing, wifi was simple and easy, and the hotel staff were wonderful. Situated in a great location, too - right near the Victoria inner harbor, where there's tons to do. Only real complaint is a lack of proper ventilation in the room, but that's a minor gripe. Overall, a great place to stay!

My wife and I took a side trip to Victoria after our time in Vancouver where I spoke at a professional conference. We had hear what a lovely and charming place Victoria is from a number of people. Sometimes, when you hear such glowing reports from a lot of people, it can actually have the effect of raising expectations too... More

This was our first stay at the British Columbia Union Club. The ambiance is very quaint. We found our room to be extremely comfortable. Our breakfast was filling and very tasty. We highly recommend staying here!

Clean and comfortable area, however the rooms are very small as the building is quite old. The entrance way gives off a bit of a pretentious feeling, but the staff and friendly and helpful which dilutes the 'club' feeling. Very close to everything you could need in Victoria, and safe and secure building to come and go.

The Union Club is a wonderful example of British colonial style, taste and good manners. The location is ideal - close to the harbour , Empress Hotel and Parliament of British Columbia yet quiet and friendly. The staff could not have been better. The early settler history of the province seeps through the walls. Staying here was a treat to... More

Union Club is not a place if you want to check your cell phone while eating, or drink your beer without a glass. But if you enjoy costume dramas circa 1920s, and the afternoon tea at the Empress, then you might like UC. Gorgeous building - yes. Lovely panelled public rooms - yes. Hushed atmosphere - yes. The Union Club was once open only to members but now also quietly serves the public as a small hotel and restaurant; a very large and well-appointed reading room adjoins a spacious billiards room on the same floor as the dining room and reception desk. A very nice full breakfast is served in the dining room by an excellent staff... More
