What this hotel has going for it is location & price. I only paid $50 for the room - so I would never complain too much. I think value is very good - We picked this primarily because of the location. (5 minute walk to the Save On Centre) Walked into the room... found 2 pizza boxes with leftovers from... more

If you would like to contact me and provide more details of your stay, I would be happy to issue you a full refund. Housekeeping issues are not the norm and I would like more information so I can get to the bottom of this. Please e-mail me at geoff.wallace@travellersinn.com.

We stayed briefly at the Travellers Inn Downtown recently, after pre-booking before our holiday. Douglas St is a busy road into the centre of Victoria, so beware traffic noise. The Adult Movie Hire Store opposite, (complete with neon sign), contributes to making this the less attractive end of Douglas St. However, the other end of Douglas St, near the RBC... more

We just stayed at this hotel after attending a concert at the Save-On-Foods Centre. A short 5 minute (at the most) walk. Perfect location for us. The first thing I did notice about this hotel was actually the smell. A very strange smell.... After you got used to that it was OK. The bed was semi comfortable. The thing that... more

First off, I hope you enjoyed the concert and you're right about the convenience of this location to the Save-On-Food Memorial Centre. I've discussed your issues with the Manager and you're right...the ice buckets are too small. This issue will be addressed at our next manager's meeting after which you can expect changes to the size of the containers we...

I was very disappointed when I arrived the hotel. The lobby was very small and there was no washroom on the main floor! I arrived earlier than the check in time and asked if we could leave our lugguages in their luggage room or check in earlier if my room was ready. Of course, no room was available for early... more

Management response from

Our staff are aware that after a long day of travel there may be services that are required urgently. A washroom is always made available immediately after it is requested. Check-in and check-out times are advertised on all promotional and booking sources. We can accommodate an early arrival at a reasonable time, unfortunately, you checked in a bit too early...

We had a very comfortable nights sleep in the huge king sized bed. The staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient. Very good location and handy to walk to restaurants. Parking no problem. Thanks. more

Travelled with another couple that didn't want to spend a lot of money. I checked the site for this location and the picture does not match the room. They, of course, put their best room on the site. Don't be fooled, this is more like a 2 Star if you are using the U.S. and European standards. The beds are... more

I was in the city for a conference at the University of Victoria and stayed at this hotel. I had a very good room but what impressed me the most was the service I received from Claudia at the desk and a housekeeper. They were both cordial and efficient. more

We stayed one night in Traveller's Inn Downtown and really found it to be quite run-down. The chairs were filthy (who knows when they were last cleaned or what was on them), the towels threadbare and the baseboard heater broken (luckily it was summer and not needed). The hotel attracts younger people who like to party -- we had the... more

I apologize that you had a disruptive stay at Traveller’s Inn Downtown. Our staff does its best to maintain a quiet, comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the noise from other guests cannot always be in our control. When you encounter a situation like this in the future, we would encourage you to contact the front desk so that the situation can be...

if you think this is a budget hotel , you are in a trap,u will end up paying 30 bucks more than the rates they offer. And if u want their free continental breakfast better wake up at 7 and go down.We went to the lobby around 8:30 and had to be content with coffee and orange juice . The... more

First of all thank you for the constructive criticism. With regards to our rates this location runs at 40-60% lower prices than our competing hotels in Downtown Victoria. In that sense we are certainly a budget hotel, but we provide a 3-Star facility unlike most budget hotels. With regards to the Air Conditioning Units, we have modern Air-Conditioning, and the...
