This hotel was just ok. It looks like it would have been great 15 to 20 years ago. Close to the boardwalk (two block walk). The hotel room was old looking and not worth the price at all. The air conditioner was portable and very loud at night. The carpet, bedding, tv, etc were very old. We checked out after... more

I believe it was around July 11th 2008 (The same time my old credit card statements say I was in Victoria.) that I was expecting staying at the Chateau Victoria. My mother was going to be getting married at a local cabin sight (it's a camp & lodging area) on Lake Cowichan that a family member possesses. Thus me and... more

Perhaps it is because i have paid a bargain rate for I got assigned to a room with "in-room" air conditioner on the 2nd floor. This is the first time I actually stayed in a room with such arrangement and the noise is just unbearable. There is a reason why air conditioner should have the mechanical part stored outside a... more

I booked a package through the Victoria Clipper and stayed two nights at the Chateau Victoria. I stayed in a queen suite which had a full kitchen! It was impressive. The room was spotless and the people were friendly and helpful. Super convenient location right in downtown. I walked to all the famous sites in Victoria. The cocktail lounge and... more

This place is just excellent. Lovely, bright, cheerful lobby. Genuinely smiling reception. Suite is great, 2 TV's. Some suites have kitchenettes. Some have great views. Location can not be better, 5 minutes walk to the harbor. 5 -10 minutes walk to all kinds of restaurants. Sam's Deli, around the corner for huge shrimp sandwiches. Bon Rouge, go there on Wednesdays,... more

I had the opportunity to take my Mom down to Victoria for the weekend, and I am so glad that we chose to stay at the Chateau Victoria. First off I should say that I work in a lovely hotel on Vancouver Island, and so I tend to be a little more observant of all things... cleanliness, amenities, maintenance, friendliness... more

It has become a tradition for us to travel to Victoria on the Easter weekend and we always stay at the Chateau Victoria. It may not be the fanciest hotel in town but the location is great for walking to all of the downtown attractions and the rooms themselves (1 bdrm suite) are quite comfortable. There were only a couple... more

There are 2 separate review sites - the other being "Chateau Victoria". It sounded great so we chose to have our gift card at the Chateau Victoria. Don't be fooled by the name or photos ... We stayed in a "suite" for a Valentine's weekend 2009 and were disappointed. Especially beware if you are sensitive to odours. The lobby is... more
