This hotel is reasonably priced, centrally located and within easy walking distance to all of the great restaurants, shopping districts and the waterfront. My husband is in a wheel chair and we found it very easy traveling to and from hotel to the downtown area. What made this hotel special was the amazing front desk staff. They were so friendly... Thank you for the review hsmill, I will be sure the front desk hears about the favorable mention. I hope they didn't spoil your dog to much with treats. For others who are considering a trip with the pooch, we do have special pet floors in every room category so be sure to let us know. More

Spent two nights and was happy with it. Only a couple minutes walk to harbour, Parliament buildings, bars & restaurants. Nice that parking was included in room rate, whereas most other hotels in this prime area charge extra. I stayed in their "value" standard hotel rooms (not suites) on the first few floors. They are small but more than adequate... More

Thank you for the review BillMckay. Most of our reviews come from people who stay in our suites so it is nice to hear from you who stayed in one of our Traditional hotel rooms. It really is the people who work here that make the difference and that came through in your review. Air conditioning is such a underused... More

My friend and I take an annual trip in May to celebrate our birthdays. This year, Victotia BC. After much researching and price shopping we ended up at the chateau. Though hardly chateau-like, the location is excellent, rooms are clean, staff is friendly. Due to some "room balancing" we were even upgraded to a jr suite! I love the fridge... More

Dear Wintermade, Thank you for picking Victoria to celebrate your birthday and for taking the time to write about it. The Chateau name dates back to the 70s when the hotel opened and like allot of Chateau's built at that time, it is a tower and not a Classic French Chateau. It has such a following that changing the name... More

Stayed in a 1 bedroom Penthouse...room is nice but the set up in the bedroom is poor. Balcony was filthy - needs to be painted and cleaned. Our room we could hear the live music from the lounge, too noisy. Staff dont communicate well about when restaurants are open and what they are serving. Wont be back.

Excellent location - a few blocks from the waterfront with its tourist attractions, downtown shopping, etc. The room was very reasonably priced given the location (conference rate of $119). I was on the 4th floor, so there was a great deal of street noise (from rowdy partiers at all hours of the morning). So take the advice to book a... More

Thank you for your review Canadian135. I know noise was an issue on this past Victoria Day weekend. Hotels throughout the downtown area fill with bands that participate in the Victoria Day parade which apparently is the 3rd largest parade in Canada. Great excitement and activity also seems to come with our noisiest time of the year in the downtown... More

This is a very fine hotel with good kitchenette facilities in the rooms. We have stayed here a number of times when visiting our daughter who lives nearby. It is better than basic accommodation, very clean, beds are very comfortable. We always managed to have a room on a higher floor, except once. The lower floor rooms are not anywhere... More

Thank you for the review traveller98735. Our traditional rooms on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors are fine for a short stay but the experience of being in a suite is well worth the small buy up for longer stays or family travel. Please note that all one and two bedroom suites have a minimum of a wet bar area... More

It’s still a joy. Our 4th or 5th visit in as many years. Still a pleasure to go and stay there. A friendly, young man picks you up in a shuttle bus from the Victoria Clipper (great way to get there from Seattle) and delivers you to the nicely-furnished, real-welcoming, large lobby. The front desk manager, Marla Hunt, still runs... More
