This place is a travesty. I was assaulted three times and the management di not do [--]. I asked for my money back and was finally put onto a private room for my own safety. Stayed for 2 nights in June 08. The hostel is located centrally in downtown across from the harbour. There's a large kitchen and good common areas with lots of books and travel resources. I highly recommend this hostel for exploring Victoria. more

This hostel is in a great location, central to downtown and management were quite friendly however the hostel is quite old and run down. We slept in a dorm room which I dont advise as it was quite noisy. As it is close by niteclubs and eateries it is quite noisy out on streets until about 2am, especially on weekends.... more

The HI Victoria was fantastic. From the moment we walked in, there was a homely feeling and I felt so safe!! We were very lucky and was offered an upgrade to a private double room for an extra $5 a night, which was far cheaper then the other hostels in Victoria, and that would have been for a dorm room.... more
