My mom and I recently stayed at the Surf Motel for one night and we enjoyed every minute of it. From the outside, the place may not look very glamorous but I can guarantee you that it is one of the best places to stay in Victoria with incredible views, a beautiful oceanside path right out the door, and great... We stayed in Surf Motel for 4 nights in August, and have an interesting story to tell everyone. We (family of 5) booked a condo with another rental company, and I was instructed to pick up the keys from Sam who works in Breakwater Cafe nearby. We immediately regretted booking the reservation after we opened the door and looked around,... More

Although this is an older building, it has been restored nicely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. the view and location is spectacular. we would highly recommend this motel and stay here again in the future. a real gem and the price was really reasonable for downtown Victoria. it's within walking distance to the parliament buildings, inner harbour and... When we pulled up outside the Surf Motel I thought 'OMG', what have we done here! A 1960's building on a busy road. Then you walk inside and sure enough it was a left over from the 60's. In truth, it was brilliant to find somewhere real retro with features kept in situ since the family bought the property in... More

This Motel isn't in the heart of the tourist attractions, but it's a 5 minute drive and well worth the stay. Every room has windows from floor to ceiling with a magnificent view of the water and snow-capped mountains of Washington State. Throw in a kitchen and supplies, free parking and wi-fi and a great restaurant in walking distance (opened... More

The Surf Motel sits across the street from the Juan de Fuca Strait and overlooks the iconic Ogden Point Breakwater. Every room faces the water. Our room was on the third floor (top floor) and we spent several warm evenings enjoying apres-dive drinks on our sunny deck. The room was clean and bright, the kitchen appliances (stove, oven, fridge) worked... More

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Waking up to the view of the Strait is awesome. I have stayed here in the past and the hotel could have used some updating. This has been done. The room was recently renovation in a retro theme. The room was big and comfy with a full kitchen and amenities, the... More

My husband and I enjoyed the 1950's-like feel of this privately-owned motel. We love that the current owner is the grandson of the first owner! Our room was very comfortable and clean. The view was less than we'd hoped for but that was totally due to the fog, NOT the room! The wall of windows facing the waterfront was quite... More

Stayed here on a number of occasions when visiting and it's always been a great experience. The location can't be beat. We can walk everywhere we want to go in the city and love the fantastic view from the balcony. The rooms are clean and comfortable and having a fully stocked kitchenette is a great bonus. We'll be back.

Good value motel right on Dallas road - seriously, what a view! Large rooms, comfy beds. Senior's rates! Kitchenettes. Drift back to the early 60's...... Very friendly helpful staff. Downside: bit noisy being on a main thoroughfare. Also, walls are pretty thin.
