The first red flag was when we called to cancel because we found a friend to stay with on or trip to see a brother at BC childrens hospital and they wanted a $75 dollar fee. I don't know what the going rate of cancelation fees are but $75 is to much for me. Second red flag was when we... More

The hotel is very modest. Almost the same principal as a hostil. Shared bathrooms and kitchen facilities. No lift and alot of stairs its too much for me. I will not be returning because of this. Otherwise if you can deal with stairs a little noise and funky smells you will be fine!

This hostel is exactly as described. It has a good size fridge in-room and pretty comfortable bed. The space was SUPER clean which I was very impressed with. They also have irons and blowdryers at the front desk if you ask. Staff was super nice :) They are getting air con soon so try and ask for a room which... More

The room was clean and serviced daily. There shared areas were also very clean. There's a weird smell at reception but it thankfully wasn't in the rooms. If you don't mind sharing facilities its a great price for the city centre. Our room was at the back so it was also quiet at night.

This location is in the city center, so you will in a good position if you like to walk. We arrived very early in the morning and were welcomed with a check-in at 15:00 (which, in my opinion, is just not right). We were, however, allowed to take a shower at the shared bathroom facilities and actually later checked-in around... More

Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson Street shopping. Chinatown's Dr. Sun Yat,-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Canada Place and Gastowns trendy dining and shopping area. The hotel location on Granville does leave much to be desired as a lot of street people sleeping in store front alcoves but even travelling as single I did not threatened. If you walk along Howe St. just... More

I had to travel to Vancouver on one of the busiest weekends of the summer. Rooms all over town were sold out. The Ambassador had a room available and it was within our budget. I have read all the reviews and had a good idea of what we were to expect. I will start with the positives. The staff is... More

The room is small, but cheap. The bed was comfortable. The place felt acceptably clean, if worn. I was right next to the shared bathroom though and could hear everything. Every flush, every tp dispense, etc. Would have moved but I had the last room and I got in from a late flight around 1AM and just wanted to sleep.... More

Thought this was a hotel but it was definitely a hostel. The bathrooms and the showers are shared but at least they were clean. The rooms were quite small but had a good view from the window. It is in a fantastic area of Vancouver, making it great for nightlife (especially if you're gay, youre right in the district) &... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in total. Basic room with shared bathroom (though had no problems with this). Warbrobe, desk, safe fridge and sink in room. Comfy bed. Good price and great location on granville street - walkable to most attractions, shopping, restaurants etc. Two Parrots cafe (two doors down) great for breakfast. Staff friendly and accommodating. Asked for a... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
