I tried this hostel out for 1 night and it was horrible! The dorm rooms are small with 2 bunk beds and a table and chair and old rotting floors. The room was above the bar and it was really noisy until 5am! There was no heat in the room either and the staff did nothing about it. In the... More

Come on, The Cambie has been around that long that there's that many reviews to warn people of what to expect! Personally i think that if you're a backpacker in Vancouver you can't not stay here for at LEAST one night, just to experience it! I had some awesome and some really cringe-worthy times here but I think that added... More

We had one night in a private room on the second floor then two nights in a private room on the first floor. The room on the second floor was basic but fine with a decent bed and quiet cleanish bathrooms. The room on the second floor was near the common room so the floor was considerably busier with constant... More

We stayed in Vancouver for 3 days. We slept in The Cambie Hostel in july 2013. Positive things: - a nice breakfast in the bakery next door. - a good location. - bed was basic but ok. Negative things: - a very old en primitive bathroom. - a terrible smell in the building and surroundings.

for 3 to stay was a hundred bucks, we had a beautiful view though, if you like looking across at windows and tampons floating in puddles etc. The staff was a joke, the man on that night got really sour when he had to lift his pudgy finger to open the door. I don't blame him, he was probably in... More

The building looks old but I imagined it's like a pub. In midnight, it's quite noisy in the upstairs room because of the sound of the bar located at the 1st floor.

My friend and I stayed here for a weekend at the end of July 2013. This hostel was close to the cruise ship terminal, about a 10 minute walk. We had a room with full size bunk beds. We didn't share the room with anyone else. The bed was a little harder than I like it but the room was... More

Cambie hostel is in the perfect location within walking distance of everywhere. The hostel itself is very basic and old but it did the job, the bed was comfortable and the place was clean. There street outside can get a bit noisy as its above a pub. You get vouchers for breakfast to use in the bakery next door which... More

This place has a great location if you don't have a car. We were travelling with our backpacks and a surf board bag via foot and transit. Our room was clean but very small so don't expect much room, bathrooms and kitchen during our stay were not very clean. Staff seemed bothered when we asked for information on where to... More

Stayed here a couple weeks ago. Came up a day early before heading out on a cruise to Alaska. Hostel is within walking distance to the downtown cruise terminal. Gastown is a decent area but there are a lot of homeless people who mostly look strung out on drugs within a few blocks. They concentrate in this area because there... More
