I had the misfortune of booking into the Grand Trunk Hostel using Hostel Bookers website, Whilst the hostel is in a great location in Gastown, it is filthy dirty and the quality of the rooms disgraceful. My experience was that the manager was actually quite helpful. But the building is really old, the room I stayed at was patched left and right. very old bedding/sheet. I emailed them three times and never got a response. This place was dirty. It smelled. There were homeless people standing on the street outside and drunk guys standing across the way and down the street. The bathroom was stained. The managers are horrible. Do NOT go here! more
