Where to begin? At almost $200 a night (inc taxes, parking), the West Coast Suites provide a unique "now I remember how much I hated living in a dorm" experience...particularly if you need to have windows open (no air conditioning). I did stay here once in the winter, and it was less horrible. DO NOT get a room facing the... More

We've stayed at the West Coast Suites three times between last November and now. Good news--if you are in Vancouver for UBC business, you can't beat the locataion. The rooms are clean, and it is very nice to have a kitchen in the rooms. The front desk and housekeeping staffs are very nice and helpful. The breakfast (during summer months)... More

Stay at the West Coast Suites for their unbeatable convenience as a comfortable apartment hotel right on campus. Don't expect a deluxe resort. There is no air conditioning or room service, for example, but there is a well equipped kitchen, a roomy living room with pull-out couch, a comfortable bedroom, and a nicely appointed bathroom with shower (no tub). For... More

Stayed in ground floor suite- spotlessly clean and roomy - very comfortable bed and nice sofa and everything you would need in the cupboards and a small fridge - nice upgraded bathroom and kitchen with table and four chairs - great for a young family or couple - but the one downside is no airconditioning - there is a fan... For the price, this hotel was not worth it. We had a wedding at UBC, and the bride and groom had booked a block of rooms here. Muggy and hot a Vancouver summer weather made for a sauna in the room. Nice enough rooms, but the lack of comfort made $220 look excessive. Would have rather stayed downtown and paid... More

When we arrived in our room, our first impression was not good and things did not really improve. First of all, the hallway leading to the room was extremely hot with no ventilation. When we got to our stifling hot room we were surprised to find that we were on the main floor and the bedroom windows were sealed shut... More

Stayed here during a conference, excellent location for that, and very good accommodation. Not close to a lot of tourist stuff (except UBC based- Museum of Anthropology, Nitobe Gardens, Wreck Beach) so chose a different location if that's what you're after. One bedroom suite had a lot of room, no tub in bath but very nice shower. Granite counters there... More

My son and I spent 4 nights at the West Coast Suites at UBC in June. We chose this location as the purpose of our trip was to find more permanent accommodations for when he begins classes at UBC in late August/early September. The location was perfect as it gave us a clear idea of distance to the campus, but... More

close to everything, bus loop, student union, great place to stay for visiting the University. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen was great for having snacks and breakfast. The cleaning staff were very accomodating as we were in and out all the time and they always made sure to have our room cleaned. I stayed for march break... More

Stayed here for a week recently while attending a short course at UBC. The suite was clean and quiet, with everything needed to do one's own cooking etc. King size bed was fairly comfortable but hide-a-bed was not, and at $149.00 per night one would expect a bit better "second bed" arrangement. It was very convenient, but the charge for... More
