Yes the neighborhood is not the best but it was a convenient location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you have a lot of luggage: the rooms are on the 2nd floor with stairs leading to it, and no elevator. This was not a big issue for us. If you get there by car, the parking is not... More

My friend and I took a road trip from Calgary down south to Idaho, Oregon, up through Washington and back over to Calgary through BC. We stayed at a number of small motels, looking for basics. We are not picky travelers AT ALL. Please keep in mind I have never in my well travelled life ever had an experience so... More

My daughter and I chose to stay at a low price hotel so we could spend our money elsewhere. Hotel prices in Vancouver were sky high and we saved close to 70 percent off the price of a slightly better hotel. If your doing a quick trip and you just need a place to rest your head and you are... More

While driving through the neighborhood to this place, there were questionable persons hanging around the building. We had booked less than 10 mins prior to arrival at about 150$. They showed us two rooms and they both had an odd smell. There were also flies in the room because of an open window with no screen (there were also flies... More

If you are looking for a cool bar to have a few drinks and a bed to rest your head on a budget in Vancouver this might be a good option for you! Staff were amazingly friendly. Above and beyond for all our questions and requests. The big downside is the location is in a rough part of town. We... More

Absolutely wonderful experience. Far beyond expectations. Once in a lifetime weekend. Could not have choreographed a better time!Excellent down town location. We were able to use public transportation from the airport and all weekend to get around. Could also walk for shopping, dining and hockey venue.

Best hotel in Versailles! Service was amazing and the location is perfect. The gardens were right outside your door and town was a five minute walk. Request the Palace when booking. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler.

I read about this East Vancouver place in the Globe and Mail and booked two nights over the weekend for a company trip. I have to say, Ron H's review is the exact opposite of mine. When I booked, the staff made sure I understood it was a music venue and let me know the room I requested was above... More

It's a music venue. We traveled all day today and arrived exhausted. I'm in bed getting blasted by music, and it's going until 2 am according to front desk. Writing with earplugs in, they do nothing - whole room is shaking. This is a live venue with some room above it. Do NOT stay here if you need to sleep.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Waldorf is a creative hub in the heart of East Vancouver where contemporary art, music, food and culture convene under one roof. The programming for the space will be both artistically expansive and thematically inclusive. The complex consists of thirty rooms, a Nuba cafe, a restaurant launching in January 2011, the World Famous Tiki bar (restored and retrofitted with a vintage analogue audiophile sound system), a hair salon (run by Barbarella Hair), a gift shop, a nightclub and a live music venue. In the works are a multi-media theater space and recording studio (tied to a residency program for visiting musicians). The Waldorf joins a new wave of Vancouver businesses that are conversing with the city, setting a benchmark for culture and hospitality. ... more   less
