Stayed overnight. The place over all looks long in the tooth, and even smells faintly in the hallway of decades of stale cigarette smoke. However, the room was more than adequate for our short stay; no cigarette smell, nice mattress (mod firm), clean sheets and clean room and bathroom over all. It was winter and the heating was too warm,... More

The rooms are very small and not really clean, this hotel is on a high traffic road near a "bad" distric with a lot of prostitute, junkies, drug dealer, homeless people. There is a loud radiator outside of the builing, you can hear it 24h. No breakfast! you have to go to a pizzeria, the Pizza's are stone oven made... More

I came to stay at the Waldorf with two friends. We were looking for somewhere cheap to crash for the night and it wasn’t supposed to be somewhere to spend a lot of time in. The motel was clean and organized. We had made the reservation very last minute but when we showed up the reservation was ready and we... More

My boyfriend stayed at the Waldorf for 2 nights. We have previously lived in Vancouver so we knew that while some people might be concerned about the area, it would be safe. We had to book this hotel last minute because all other hotels were booked. After the first night, my boyfriend woke up with bites all over his back... More

First off there was no elevator. We were going on a cruise leaving out of Vancouver so you can imagine how aweful it was to take your luggage up 2 half flight stairs that turned on each of the sections of steps! Then there is the fact that it must not get hot in Vancouver very often because this place... More

We've stayed in Vintage Hotels before (the Plaza in Kamloops for one) and were impressed with how they were rejuvenated while maintaining their ageless charm. This could be done at the Waldorf but it hasn't happened yet. It needs some work! Carpets are dirty and threadbare, bathroom cabinet needed repair, ceiling fan was falling down and I could go on.... The staff here was very friendly and the food in the Restaurant was decent. That being said, it is in a dodgy section of town and we were very nervous when we saw it. The reviews had been positive and it was only one night. But the tiki bar below had a live band which shook the floor beneath us... More

We booked the Waldorf because we thought it was going to be a great deal and, in a way, it was. It's in a great central location, the room was cheap ($90) and the place is relatively nice for a budget hotel, if rather small. We checked in around 10 p.m., the staff were very courteous, and we went to... More

The Waldorf is pretty basic and just far enough away from the tougher parts of town to be respectable. If you're looking something a little nicer than a hostel but less expensive than many of the town's pricey hotels, this could just be perfect. Warning- no elevator (all rooms on the second floor) and the hallway really smells of cleaning... More

Hotel is located outside of downtown on Hastings st. First impressions are bad but when you walk in the interior is nice and the front desk staff is always very friendly, welcoming and reassuring. Rooms were clean, had basic amenities. Just enough for the basic, no frills traveler.
