This guest house is situated in a great location, close to metro, restaurants, etc. We found it very impersonal; we arrived at about 17.00 and the code for opening the hall door was found in a letter addressed to us in the letterbox and the directions to our room which was located in the basement. There was a window in... More

We stayed at this hotel just for one night during summer. We travelled to Vancouver from Seattle just for a two-day trip and chose this hotel on Booking. We were really satisfied with the accommodation (a triple room), it was near the underground, comfortable room, very good breakfast and affordable price. Transport to the city was quite easy and the... More

Nice Victorian atmosphere in the house. Very friendly staff, comfortable bed and great breakfasts with a wide choice of foods to choose from for breakfast. It is also close to lots. It was walking distance to the market where you can buy lunch or dinner (already made), lots of tasty hot or cold foods to choose from and healthy at... More

This accommodation is not a real B&B since everything is done by hired staff and the owner do not live on the property. Nevertheless, we found our 3 nights stay to be quite nice. The staff was friendly, the room clean and not too small, and we could choose from a vegetarian menue for breakfast. You can sit outside on... More

Very large older home in area full of interesting large older homes. Parking on site. Shared bathroom with another room. However, huge bathroom kept impeccably clean. Barely noticed my fellow bathroom sharers. Large comfortable room for me. Lovely breakfasts prepared by Habib. Poached eggs tasted and looked superb. Habib very knowledgeable. Lots of information regarding sights, tours, maps, etc. Free... More

While not a B&B in the traditional sense, this guest house has a great location for getting around Vancouver and coming and going to YVR. It's about a 3 minute walk from the Broadway/City Hall station, so you can be downtown in 10 minutes, or at the airport in under 30 minutes. If you need/have a car, there is free... More

went in to drop off my relatives, "nice heritage house" means narrow ways and micro rooms, smelly old house. if you have trouble with stairs, make sure you are not booking the basement (sold as "ground level"). it's in a quiet street and food is ok.

Lovely heritage home in a suburban street of other lovely homes. Perfect location. Can easily walk into the city across Cambie in about 15 minutes. About 3 minute walk from Broadway Station which is on the Canada Line coming directly from the airport so very convenient. We had the Henry room which was down in the basement with not a... More

Booked through booking.com - arrived at residence - took cab from Vancouver Airport - $30 with tip - could take the train but is about a 400 meter walk there from Broadway city centre stop - and not being there before and getting late figured cab was easier - no prior instructions given - no one at the home -... My idea of a great B&B is a comfortable room, a good breakfast and a welcoming host. The Windsor Guest house had the first two but not the third. We arrived to find a note on the door saying nobody was there and to collect an envelope from the post box which gave us an entry pad code number and... More

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighborhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
