Our family lives on Haida Gwaii in Northwestern BC, and we often spend a night in Vancouver when traveling to other destinations. The Windsor House (or Douglas House) is our go-to accommodation. Super easy to get to from the airport - just take the Canada Line Skytrain to the Broadway City Hall Station, and Windsor House is just a 5... More

We were going on a cruise to Alaska and wanted to arrive in Vancouver the day before to avoid any travel problems. Arrived the afternoon before and found everything in good order. Bed was nice, internet service, proprietor was fun to talk with. Next morning returned the scooter (see tip) after a great breakfast by the cook at the B&B.... More

Thanks for this review, it is fun to remember back to the Marathon, we have a saying at Windsor House, those who can RUN,and those who cant, get up and make porridge, and bagels for all the runners, hand out the bandages and lube, and then go out to stand on the corner (in the pouring rain), and cheer for... We stayed here for two nights, it was a bit aquade to check in and there was a issue in the way we communicated to the host? The heating was confusing and we where unsure on how to operate. The B&B was nice and old looks great from the outside, the rooms are OK and the price is good, This... More

Seems to be the practise to leave keys strapped to the front door! the room we stayed in was very clean with a good bed but a musty smell, the breakfast was very average, staff likewise, we were not impressed with the washer which was in a utility room close by being switched on at eight in the morning which... When we arrived there was an envelope taped to the door with our name on it.Inside were the keys to our room and the code to open the front door. Not the best security for a guest house. The greeting we got from the house keeper was not very friendly, as she did not show us to our room just... More

I am so sorry you had such an unpleasant experience on your one night stay with us this summer, we do leave entry information for our guests at the front door when we are busy cleaning ( or as I was when you arrived, eating my dinner) Our homes have open kitchens for use by the guests to make tea... I am not usually a picky person, so I will start this review with the non negatives !!. You know you are going to be leaving SOON. The other one You DONT have to stay here. GOOD start. We drove down a lovely street to find the B&B on the right, so I pulled into the driveway (as I was... More

I am so sorry you had an unpleasant one night stay with us. We endeavor to please all our guests, but sometimes appear to come up short with cold toast , limited parking and wrinkled carpets, we will try to improve for future guests, and appreciate your comments. More

The staff were very good at accommodating us on short notice, the biggest problem is they are on booking dot com and as a local user it is too hard to get a room. We stayed due to family being in the Vancouver general hospital as the location is very convenient. We managed to get two rooms for one night... More

First, I am what you call a "B& connoisseur", always staying in this type of accommodation for the opportunity to meet others and stay in a "home-like" atmosphere. This definitely fits that bill. You'll find your room key and information in an envelope taped to the door but, at most times, Leslie is there with a friendly hello and great... More

We chose the Windsor Guest House for its location. Great access to the places we wanted to go! We stayed in the Henry Room (basement, twin beds). It was very small (open your suitcases on your bed, close them up again to store them so you can sleep)l but very reasonable as we were just ducking in to sleep and... More
