Looked for a economic place central to transit and close to downtown. Neighbourhood is very close to Skytrain 2 blks and good restaurants. For $100 a night was complete with kitchenette and huge deep tub. Surprisingly quiet inside and quiet residential street so much more restful than hotels. Wireless is pretty slow but otherwise pleasant stay. I love how warm... More

Very simple, no service, noise from young people until late at night in the house besides (info from the other guests when we wanted to check in). But what a suprise, without asking us they put us in a Guest House in the same street. In a tiny filthy room in the basement. one word "unbelievable"

Only here for one night . Close to Broadway , so train & buses just 5 mins away. They have put 2 lovely timber carved single beds together to form a double bed. The only thing it creaks a lot . Also don't think the round table & 4 chairs are needed. A sheet under the quilt cover would have... More

The best point with this rental house is that it is pretty close to Vancouver Island and not far from the bustling streets and yet there is a peaceful silence around the house. Other than that I cant say I liked anything about this place. The door locks for one of the bathrooms was not working, floors were squeaking in... More

We booked this through travelocity because it said 2 adults and up to 3 kids. As we were bringing our luggage in the manager started asking for an additional $20 per kid! We decided to look for someplace else but he said he got the difference from Travelocity but never offered us additional towels or anything. Thats after my kids... More

I actually contact the booking agent they used to reserve a room with us and it was the clients misunderstanding of "Up to Three Kids" meant on a reservation for a maximum of 4 people in the room. They were 5 people trying to get into a room designed for 4 people and wanting to only pay for 2 people.... More

We have recently made the move to Vancouver from England and stayed here for a first three nights. The room and establishment was perfect for our requirements. We didn't choose a hotel as they were too expensive (we booked fairly last minute) and we just wanted somewhere to dump our bags and sleep as soon as we got here. The... More

We stayed for 4 nights in Vancouver and with the Womens football / soccer world cup being on ended up rushing to nab the last room here as it was well reviewed and reasonably priced. It is fair to say this is a case where the panic buy paid off! The rooms are a good size, ours at the front... More

I stayed for 4 months (Nov '14 - Feb '15) and was happy to call Manor Guest House my home during my time in Vancouver. My room was clean & comfortable and I found the manager David was always available to answer questions. The house is close to bus lines and the Canada Line, providing easy access to downtown Van... Yes, there is no breakfast, but there is a fully equipped kitchen, shared by two rooms, and we had no problem shopping locally, looking after ourselves, and being on our own time-line. Parking is limited, as in the entire Vancouver area. However, we stayed off season and had no problems. Great area for local bars, restaurants, downtown Vancouver, Granville Island,... More

I was recently a guest at the Manor Guest House and found it thoroughly delightful. My suite was comfortable and beautifully furnished, and I can't remember when I've slept in a more comfortable bed - including my own! The location was fantastic - in the middle of everything, close to transportation and very nice restaurants. David, the manager was so... More

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighborhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
