We last stayed here 4 years ago and really loved the location. It's near enough to the city yet has a different feel - probably because the Island is a working place, not just a tourist trap. The market itself is so interesting and the food is wonderful. It's also great to see the students at the Emily Carr Institute.... more

This hotel couldn't be in a better location. Granville Island is a wonderful attraction for visitors and locals. In addition to the large market, there is also a kids market, shops, water taxis, theatre, art school and other attractions for people of all ages. We stayed here for 5 nights. It is a $25 cab ride from the airport which isn't too bad really. The hotel itself is nice, it has an average size lobby, and the staff are really helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food sounded nice (although a little pricey!). We did have a few drinks there though... more

The Granville Island Hotel is a great little place to stay if you don't want the big city experience, and you like walking out your door to the marketplace, coffee shops, galleries and outdoor spaces that surround you on this interesting island.
