West End Guest House is one of the last Victorian mansions left in downtown Vancouver. It's a beautiful house with friendly owners and a helpful staff. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to Robson street but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Breakfast is included and it's the best B&B fare I've had anywhere. The rates... More

Stayed for a few nights while attending a conference; had the garden suite at the back with its own entrance - great for coming back late and not disturbing anyone. Free parking at the back for the rental car. The suite was extremely comfortable and quiet, they must have used a lot of sound insulation in the construction. It was... More

Stayed for one night and will be back in the future. The house is very clean and furnished with all the right touches, showcasing it's historical and modern aspects. The host staff, Barbara and Xian, were very friendly and helpful from our arrival to departure. The quest pantry is a nice touch as well as the free sherry. The multi... More

I had the cosy double which was very cosy - but so well decorated and furnished with a very spacious bedroom. It was perfect for me and my very big case. Lovely as a single traveller to sit with other guests at breakfast time and get to share vancouver travel tips. Great to also have the butler's kitchen with drinks... More

We stayed in the 3rd floor room with lots of space. Wonderful bed (love the sheets), nice sitting area, large shower (white tiles need the grout cleaned a little better). The breakfast was absolutely delightful! Dining area and living room are lovely. We enjoyed the little extras like the drinks and snacks and the nightly sherry on the sideboard. Nice... More

This was our first time staying at a B&B and it was outstanding. Everything came together nicely - the Christmas decorations outside and inside, convenient free parking, very comfortable room, beautiful furnishings, cozy fireplace, delicious breakfasts/cupcakes/cookies, free Wi-Fi. The West End Guest House is located just a block from Robson Street, and close to Gastown. Granville Island, Stanley Park, Capilano... More

My wife and I spent a week here while visiting my daughter and her family (her apartment was too small to accommodate us.) It was delightful. The rooms were cozy and well decorated. Breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed socializing with other guests from many different countries. The staff was gracious and accommodating. It is within a short walk of many... More

My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary. This B & B is perfectly located, warm and welcoming. The house is so beautifully decorated. Our room was so lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. It is so close to everything, you can walk 1 block over and you are on the main street to restaurants and shopping.... More

The last stop on our tour. We'd visited Vancouver twice before and had stayed at a b&b well out of the city (long walk to the bus stop) and then on the 2nd occasion, a city-centre hotel but without any atmosphere. West End Guesthouse gave us the best of both worlds - the friendliness of a b&b but in an... More

Lovely place to stay near Stanley Park and Vancouver Convention Centre. This is a comfortable, small guest house; wonderfully decorated and packed full of art and interesting antiques. The bedrooms are comfortable, well furnished, and warm. Breakfast in great. There is a lounge with a fire to cosy up in front of on cold nights. So much nicer than staying... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
