The staff were pleasant and the room was functional. We rented a two bedroom suite for 5 nights as our child had to go for surgery at BC Children's Hospital. The bedding and bathroom were clean but there were several mystery smears on several surfaces and the grease all over the stove in the kitchen was disgusting. The room was... More

We have stayed at the Landis before and had a great time BUT this time it was terrible! The carpet near the sliding door was soggy wet to three feet into the room, it was shown to have three TV's but there was only one, the oven was broken, when I took supper to cook in another suite, that oven... My family of five spent eight nights here on our first ever visit to Canada and it was a good choice. It's central to shops and restaurant's,breakfast was included, security parking, kitchenette and a onsite laundry. The staff were great, wifi was fast great for the teens of the family and the beds were comfortable.

You know that feeling when you give someone money and they use a sharp tongue and insolently treat you like you owed them to begin with....well the bald middle eastern fellow at the reception dishes it out by the bucket. After a 5 hour drive into Vancouver it was a scintillating welcome.... Really souring. Room was spacious. But for residual... More

Travelled the last week in October with our 14 year old son. Fantastic location, really friendly and helpful staff. Spent 4 days here then 2 in whistler (don't bother in October as no snow is no go) then went back to the landis for the remainder of our holiday. They offered us breakfast before we were due to check in,... More

A 2-bedroom suite excellent. for the 6 of us (3,6,9) kids. they had a free scuttle to the cruise ship.... More

So I recently (October 2015) had to take a work assignment in Vancouver. Deciding to travel with my family (which includes an awfully cute and destructive 10 month old mini-me), my first task was to find a hotel that could contain us. Traditional hotels couldn't quite cut it due to lack of space/kitchen, and the fact whereever I'd be staying... More

After some small difficulties checking in (the reservations were made by family and not in our name) we were provided key cards and on our way to our rooms. From the enormous windows in our fifth floor suite we had a decent view of busy Davies street. The suite itself was excellent, very large shared space, room enough for four... More

We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of September and were impressed with this hotel. For the same price as one standard room in a hotel a few blocks away, we got a full apartment basically. It was clean and comfortable and everything worked properly. The staff were helpful and the free minibus shuttle service is great. The only... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
