The hostel is located pretty much in the center of downtown and pretty close to the all major POI in the heart of Vancouver. Rooms are equipped with reasonable large lockers ( bring your own lock) and a sink. The breakfast is complimentary and covers pretty decent variety of delicacies. Staff is friendly.

Are you looking for a place to stay in Vancouver without paying more than $150 per night? This place may have your answer. I've always had great experiences with the staff. Always knowledgeable about things going on in the city. If you want suggestions, you've gone to the best source!

the place was ...alright. staff nice and helpful. free breakfast and coffee in the morning. free storage. rooms are clean. it's also great location: 5 mins to the beach, 2 mins to Davie street...but there's not much of an ambiance and prices, especially in the season, are pretty high. what upsets me a bit was that my 0nline reservation showed... Hostel was average. It is in a good location to English Bay and walking distance to the CBD however it is very basic. The wifi was not working for 2 days when I arrived. The breakfast was pretty decent for a hostel.

Complimentary breakfast is very nice and convenient - safe your time and money. Hostel is clean and we didn´t see any bed bugs so common in other cheap hostels in Vancouver. Location is good as well, you can easily catch a bus or walk to the city.

Compared to their location on Grandville st which is Downtown by all the hangouts and clubs this location is great with grocery stores and shopping areas nearby.it is in a quiet and friendly neighborhood with diverse population. The staff is knowledgeable and does look after you.Be prepared NOT to bring your sleeping bag or pillow into your room due to... More

Hostel ideal for one or two night stay but nothing more. Location is great, everything is nearby even though the neighborhood is quite scary during nights. Washrooms are quite clean but room I have slept in was cold and there was nothing I could do to raise the temperature. Breakfast was really good! And staff was friendly and willing to... More

this was basically a rest point, it was nice for a night or two on my trip to tofino, with my wonderful girlfriend. we explored the city and this was a nice central area close to transit. the staff were nice and helpful and the free breakfast was a nice touch.

We've stayed in lots of Hostelling International hostels and this one was poor by comparison. Our private room wasn't up to scatch, being dirty and smelly. The kitchen was good, well stocked and designed, and the breakfast was good. We wouldn't rush back there.

Perfect to explore, right next to the bars in the downtown with a major venue right across the road. The staff offered a lot of advice and had maps on hand! The breakfast was a must and really good for a hostel meal!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
