We knew this would be a pricey trip with all the shopping potential since we drove and I could bring back as many bags as I liked so we didn't want to spend a fortune on a bed. Our needs were thus: close to Convention Centre, cheap, clean, roomy if possible, near food. What we got at the Barclay was... More

Stayed for one night before embarking on a cruise. The hotel is well situated in a shopping district. It is very close to Canada Place but not walking distance with anything other than hand luggage. Rooms look a bit dated and dark but offer value. Overall it is ok for a one or maybe two night stay.

Rooms are dated to antiquated. Cheap Window A/C units that could only cool a closet are provided at a higher nightly rate under the heading, Fully Air Conditioned." No elevator, very steep stairs and no hallway or reception area A/C makes this place better suited to camping out but with a $125 U.S. nightly price tag. Good for nothing in... More

My husband, myself and my sister stayed for 1 night during August long weekend...one of the busiest weekends in Vancouver. Even though I booked last minute, the Barclay had room for us. I was nervous to stay there after reading some reviews, but we are SO happy we chose it! On arriving, we sensed the beautiful European feel of the... More

Just spent 2 notes at the Barclay Hotel after cruising Alaska. Front desk staff were very friendly and we were upgraded to a suite for the same price. We were allowed to leave our luggage at the front desk on the day of arrival as the cruise ships dock at 0730 and of course we were not able to check... More

We wanted to stay Downtown to see the fireworks and they had a room available for a very good price. We were not expecting much. It was a bit tricky to find mid-block and the parking was at another location (not valet). But - at only $15 a night it was a smokin' deal in Vancouver. I was dismayed to... More

I stayed here for 10 days. During my visit I was kept awake every night due to the noise from the hotel bar. Staff would shout to eachother down corridors and you could hear every movement from the rooms around you. I had a do not disturb sign on my door, which housekeeping chose to ignore. I had to lock... The Barclay Hotel is towards one end of downtown Robson Street. Not a fancy hotel but convenient location. Local buses and Hop-on Hop-off tour buses past the door. Dozens of eateries of all kinds surround the hotel. We even parked the hire car behind the hotel for $10/day. Rooms vary in size but ours was more a suite than a... More

Very basic but clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Because of availability they upgraded us to a very big and spacious room. The location is good and in walking distance. Some good restaurants in walking distance to the hotel. The bus to the Ferry terminal is one block away. We would stay there again.

Was there with a group, someone else made the reservation. Describing it as "no frill" is a complement, poorly lit hallways (very bright), poorly designed rooms, can hear every movement outside of my room and above. Our room had no closet, a shelf with a closet pole was put on one wall - might have worked but the desk was... More
