I am from the Lower Mainland originally (Surrey), so I had to laugh at the fact that this hostel does not let Lower Mainland residents stay there. I know it generally opens up drunk people to just spending the night... but that's exactly what I did and I got away with it because I'm from Victoria! Hahaha Stayed in a... More

I stayed here a few times over the past 3 years that being said it cant be bad, I have never stayed in the dorms. The private rooms are very nice hotel quality. the staff is friendly My only complaints was when walking to the hostel a homeless person throw some garbage at me and said stupid backpacker.

I traveled to Vancouver alone in September and booked this hostel for three nights through Hostelworld. Unfortunately I was feeling ill on the flight over from Australia and only stayed the first night, changing my booking to a hotel to have my own space and bathroom. So, had I been feeling more up to it, I would have really enjoyed... More

I've stayed in quite a few HI hostels from the really good to the not-so-good and this one ranks a little above average. It's very centrally located - you can't get much of a better location than this for a hostel. Although a bit dank & outdated, the room was warm with an ample number of washrooms & showers lining... Walking into this place it has a nice feel, well heated, good set out, several bathrooms on each level, elevator, clean, comfy bed, clean linen and towels provided. these are the things you would be satisfied with for paying $31CAD a night. price includes breakfast spread of cereals, and toast \ bagels. The reason i chose to stay in a... More

Yeah, I know that nobody goes to a place to be online, but if you are traveling, you may need to check schedules, routes, flight checkin.. Well, you won't do it in this place! Although you are connected, the Internet simply doesn't work! About the hotter, I stayed in a private ensuite, which was great, clean, lot of space, very... More

I stayed here for one night in a 4 bed female dorm. Its pretty cramped and dark but it's in a fantastic location and the staff are pretty friendly. The bathrooms are great and spacious and the other facilities are pretty good. They have an amazing breakfast as well! Muffins, bagels, fruit, toast and juice.

Clean, cheap and central. Staff were friendly, the area is a little run down, I wouldn't take my kids here, but for a budget traveller I'd definitely recommended and come back. Short walk to the central station or anywhere really. My room even had air con which was a sight for sore eyes as it was one of the hottest... More

Messed up my booking for samesun accross the road so ended up spending a night here in the last room they had available! A very quiet and less social hostel than most (especially compared to samesun accross the street) but if that's what you're Into this place delivers! Plenty of (SPOTLESS) bathrooms available and never once waited, even at peak... More

We took the private room at the hostel and it was a descent one for the money as compared to other hotels in the area. Nice location with easy transport to attractions of Vancouver We requested for a room at the top floor which was provided which helped us avoid th night noise as the area is famous for night... Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
