After a long day of travel including three flights, we were greeted by friendly staff who upgraded our room to a suite on the 21st floor with a great city view of one of the world's most beautifully located cities. The place was spotless and the kitchen recently renovated. Our room had an outside balcony and was very quiet. Contrary... More

Good downtown Vancouver location. Walk to everything - stores, shopping centre, restaurants, bars, food trucks. A home away from home. A great market close by to get supplies. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean. Big fridge and large freezer. Inverter cooking microwave. Adequately equipped kitchenette. Dishwasher. Complimentary breakfast buffet.

The hotel is a clean and offers a convenient stay but the refugees staying there seem to have found the smoking area and front lobby to be a convenient meeting place. The smell of smoke lingers both day and night. The breakfast offerings were in constant need of topping up. Just not the same place for pleasure or business.

Dear Gordon P, Thank you for your review and comments. Our hotel is 100% non-smoking and per city by-laws, smoking areas must be 20 feet from any extrance/air flow into the building. We have a designated smoking area outside the hotel that meets this requirement and have not noticed any egress into the hotel. Kind Regards, Suzanne Allemeier, General Manager More

I stayed here twice at the end of 2015 (Oct 3 nights - Nov 2 nights) and was pleased with the rate & hotel experience both times. The rooms are well equipped for extended stays, and the entire property seems to be very well maintained. The morning breakfast is quite the spread, but seemed to be full of packaged/boxed/canned items... More

Dear Spencer S, Thanks for the review and recommendation. Our breakfast offers something for everyone, and we do so in some cases in individual servings, like yogurt, to ensure freshness and quality. So glad you enjoyed both your stays. Kind Regards, Suzanne Allemeier, General Manager More

Great service, free breakfast, updated exercise equipment, best hot tub in the world (you won't believe the "power of the jets"), full Olympic size pool, fantastic view, and excellent location. Rates are competitive, and the people are all very professional and accommodating. Marriott Points are the icing on the cake!

We had a wonderful vacation here. We stayed with a kid for 1 week. Best place for the families. I would definitely recommend this place. As usual the rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and hospitable. I would like to thank the housekeeping lady Esther, who would always bring smile in my face as soon as... More

We stayed here prior to our departure to Alaska. The hotel is nice and the rooms are nice. Only complaint was how rude the night clerk was that checked us in. We arrived before checkin time and he would not offer us a reduced rate or rate equal to our actual booking.

Dear RoRo M, Thank you for your review and comments. During the Cruise Season, the hotel is extremely busy, being fully booked most days. This may be why an early check-in was not available. I'd appreciate more information directly at sallemeier@silverbirchhotels.com in order to better understand what happened. Kind Regards, Suzanne Allemeier, General Manager More

My husband and I stayed three nights this month at the Residence Inn downtown Vancouver, and we were extremely happy with the amenities this hotel has to offer. The rooms were very spacious; in fact, this would be a perfect location for a long term stay, as all rooms are equipped with a full kitchen & dinning area. We had... More

This hotel is located in the heart of Vancouver and is handy to everything. Since it's a Residence Inn it comes with a full kitchen which is convenient and provides more space than a typical hotel room. Staying in Davie Village

Neighborhood Profile
Davie Village
Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver. It is the only like area in the world to have a permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant. By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines, humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside many of the hip and trendy bars and dance halls. The area is diverse and welcoming, and its supportive community makes for a tight-knit group of independent and creative shops.
