We wanted to be near our son's apartment on Commercial Drive, so found this place. I couldn't believe how wonderful it was for a reasonable amount of money. We rented the Inukshuk apt., which had a good sized bedroom, living area, well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, and nice outdoor deck. It was SO much better than staying in a hotel, since... More

I am happy that you enjoyed your stay. I have tried very hard to provide as many conveniences as possible for my guests comfort. Too bad that we can't turn off the street noise! More

Stayed at the Commercial Drive Accommodations for a week long business trip. This was a great way to feel like you are living in Vancouver. Commercial Drive is a fantastic retail strip of shops, restaurants, and interesting sights. All within walking distance. It was the perfect location. The Commercial Drive Accommodations were clean and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped... More

My fiance and I stayed in the Bijou apartment with one other couple for three nights and we really loved it. Spacious and clean with a great kitchen and outdoor seating area and excellent location. Just a five minute walk from the train with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores even closer than that. Joanne was very helpful and we... More

I recently stayed in the basement apartment with 6 adults for 4 nights. Although I was happy with the stay overall (I did very thorough research before booking this apartment, so I know we couldn't have got anything else better for the price) I have to say that it did not quite meet my expectations from the photos. It felt... More

Another couple along with my husband and I spent three days in the Bijou Apartment on the main floor of the house. The place was very clean, fully stocked and the outdoor space was just perfect for enjoying the sunshine that graced our visit. We especially loved the location... so close to all the happenings on Commercial Drive. As we... More

My wife and I spent 13 days in this lovely loft and we could not have been happier. It is bright and clean with a great balcony. We also enjoyed the fact that the loft is mere steps away to Commercial Drive where we found far too much amazing food as well as shopping. It was also close to the... More

I stayed at the Inukshuk apartment for one week and it was absolutely wonderful. The apartment was very, very spacious and beautifully decorated. It was very very clean and had absolutely everything you would need right at your fingertips. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the appropriate items you would need. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom... More

We stayed in the top apartment - the Inukshuk Loft - for a four week stay in February/March. The apartment was beautiful inside and incredibly stylish. The whole apartment was clean and the owner was happy to meet my uncle and drop the keys off with him as we weren't arriving until late. The apartment itself has one bedroom with... More

Don't be taken in by the photos of Domain that depict it as bright and airy. In fact, it's a basement apartment--dark, cramped and constricted by low ceilings. The decor is bright and rather stylish--a solid B--but little else pleases (beds are good, though). The so-called "master bedroom" is too small for a dresser or nightstand and the attached bathroom... More

Vancouver has the second highest real estate prices in the world; you will not find bargain rental prices anywhere. Your review states bright and stylish, dark and cramped. So contradictory!! Are you joking? It is correct that there were some recycle materials left by recently departed tenants waiting to be picked up by city engineers but definitely no property neglect... More

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighborhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
