The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable, if a little small for two people. The balcony is great. The elevators are tiny and slow. It was almost impossible to fit 4 people plus luggage in them! elevators. The WiFi connection is very slow, pretty difficult to so any work over the connection.

The staff was very prepared for a conference of about 700 people. The staff were very friendly and polite. The elevators were sluggish but that was to be expected with as many people who had to use them on an hourly basis. The convention rooms were clean and orderly and the beverages were always topped up.

We've stayed at this hotel at least 8 times over the past 20 years and other than changing the TVs and adding Wi-Fi, nothing has changed. The popcorn ceilings are indicative. This Hotel needs a major remodel - the decor and infrastructure need upgrades floor by floor and room by room. By failing to make any real changes the hotel... More

Hall smelled like cabbage, dormatory style furnishings, unhelpful staff. Only one, sometimes 2 working elevators for 35 floors. All this for $400 a night. The only saving grace was the location and spaciousness of the room. Must have been a nice place back in the 1970's when it was last renovated. Also the hotel parking lot is not monitored and... Dear Ztivrig: Thank you for your recent review. I am extremely disappointed to read that you had a poor experience. You are correct that the hotel was built in the 1970’s and not the most current, but we had have updates to the hotel rooms as recent as four years ago. I am also, sorry to read that you did... More

Coast Plaza hotel does need updating but putting that aside it offers fantastic staff, prime location near English Bay, Stanley Park and many restaurants. It is a safe area and very clean hotel with beautiful views from all rooms.

I booked this hotel for a one night stay when attending a conference in downtown Vancouver. The hotel was easy to find and in a great location just off of Denman St. Walking distance to English Bay and great restaurants. The hotel is a little out dated but the staff was great and my room was clean and well equipped.... More

Outside of the fantastic location there is nothing we could recommend about this hotel. I do not think the rooms or at least ours had been updated for more then 15-20 years. The furniture had holes and pieces missing on upholstery, the room was musty and very small, the overall condition of the hotel screams reno me please. The staff... More

This hotel was in a great spot so close to all eating places a short work to the bay and very close to public transport. The room was old but it was more a suite, had a proper kitchen, big bathroom and bath and a good size bedroom plus a lounge room with Balcony over looking the city. Staff were... More

Booked through TripAdvisor and did experience a degree of trepidation about what we would find, wow what a great Surprise! We did pay for the sea views and I can say that it would be hard to find a more magnificent veiw anywhere 180 degree panorama, balcony to enjoy the sights smells and full experience of the area. Perfect close... More

This grand old hotel has location, location, location. A 10 minute slow walk to English Bay, Stanley Park, and the seawall. As a previous reviewer said the rooms are dated but they are updating the rooms gradually. Customer service is excellent. Fast, courteous and helpful. The restaurant on site is OK. 10% off of one meal while you are a... More
