I booked this hostel before my stay. Upon arrival I asked to see the room first. Honestly I am not picky but it was SUCH a dingy place and did not look clean. When I went to leave, the door wouldn't even lock after I tried for 5 minutes. I ended up cancelling my stay and they charged me $120... More

we stayed here for 3 nights and I contracted RINGWORM from the bed sheets !!! The noise from the street was terrible all night and lots of homeless people hanging around. Laundry room had 2 washing machines and 1 dryer and 1 was always for 'staff use only'. Unhelpful staff. Better off staying at the Samesun.

Super location, friendly personal, very exerted. In the beginning of my stay I had a bit trouble but they made efforts and I was compensated and had a very pleasant stay for 12 days. Beds are a bit wiggling but stable and have good mattresses. The weak point are the showers. They always seemed to be a bit slimy and... More

The hostel offered a late checkin which was really good as we arrived in the middle of the night. The staff is really friendly and helpful. During our stay the bathrooms were mostly pretty tidy. The rooms are really tiny. Also there is no kitchen in the hostel. I would recommend staying in this hostel not longer then three days.

SERVICE Firstly I have to commend the brilliant service I received. My first night I flew in to Vancouver at 12pm, upon booking with them and stating that I would be getting in late I received an email detailing instructions on how to get in after reception close (9pm). I was a little hesitant, but I got in the door... More

The staff were really friendly. The beds squeaked, the toilet and showers could have been cleaner, the kitchen and communal areas are REALLY small and to be honest were insufficient. The hostel local area is a stone throw from downtown which is good, but throw the stone the other way and the area is rough - lots of drug users,... More

A hidden spot very close to public transportation, Gastown, Vancouver Public Library and shops. I have stayed here a handful of times and have always fou, nd the accommodations clean, quiet and the staff very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and showers are down the hall. The coin-op washers and dryers are conveniently located. A micro-wave, small fridge and cutlery/plates to... More

We stayed here for 2 weeks and it was a great spot to be. It's downtown so was easy for us to explore and get around easily. Some things to note about this place, there is no kitchen just a microwave, no kettle and no sink to wash up used bowls and cups so I'd recommend getting disposable cups etc... More

No matter where I was I could easily get a bus to go back to the hostel, a lot of bus stops around. Many places to eat nearby. It's an old building, but it's worthy the price. Bathroom is okay. No kitchen. They didn't turned the heat on two nights, what was not good, but not terrible.

Although it is a old house, it is really cheap and well located. There is no breakfast, no kitchen. I missed activity promoters as I have already seen in some other hostels; it is not the most social hostel that I have ever been. However, its price and locality are worth.
